You know how along time ago when I told you that I wasn't allowed back on VMK but i'd find some way to get back on? Well, that someway is soon. Last night i was sitting in my room thinking to myself(odd) well if my parents don't like me using their computer than why not buy my own. So I went and told my parents and my mom said go ahead but it will burn a hole in your pockets. My dad said that by the time I get enough money I will be in a senior citizen home. They don't believe? So then a second lightbulb went off in my head. It said "melanie, in order to get 1,300.000 you're going to have to give up something you really love... CANDY!" so truthfully this is going to be hard since I love candy. But getting $5.00 a week only adds up to 260.00 plus at least 200.00 for b-day and christmas if not more which brings me to $1200.00 which is barely enough since I have to buy norton and stuff. This will be fun and hard it will be fun because I want to see the look on my parents faces when I do get my computer and hard because I love candy. The only problem I'm running into now is that i'm not good at deciding which computer to get. I need you're help.... you all are like superheros and so nice and everything.... what brand of laptop should I get? Well I want to order off of ebay but i don't trust that the computers will actually work. So I am going to circut city I will ask my mom to take me and maybe we can strike a deal i'll pay her $800.00 now if I can get it and pay her $500.00 later... do you think that she will go for it?

Trust me. DON'T get a laptop!!They break so easy.Get a desktop.I'd suggest a good brand like Dell or something.

I think you are budgeting to much for a computer. Go shopping for one and you will see that most systems, even reasonable good ones, are under $1000. Look at what you want to do and buy enough for that. No need to get a Ferrari if a Mustang will do. Maybe if some Dis gave out specs for their computers might give you an idea of what you need.

I run a AMD Athlon 64 bit processor running at 3400, 512 MB of ram, 200 Hard drive. I have upgraded the video card to an ATI 9550. This system will handle multiple windows of VMK and run most games on very high settings. This complete system ran $600 except for printer and video card. My old system was a 1.7 ghz pentium with 80G hard drive and ran VMK fine and most games on good setting.

I bought my new Dell desktop for $441.

Go for a dell desktop. For your birthday and Christmas ask for money. You'll be there in no time.:)

My sister bought a nice black,flat-screen MDG computer. It works pretty well, only 1 problem in about 4 years.

By no means am I an expert on computers; however, if you are mostly going to use it for games, the most important things to consider is the graphics card, processor speed and your internet connection speed. Other than that, a computer is a tower that holds all that and nothing more.

Name brand is usually not important. Dell usually has some excellent offers under $700, and most of the time includes a printer and monitor! Don't get me wrong, HP and Sony are excellent computers but are usually priced high!

And stay away from Circuit City! They usually sell out of date over priced products, at least in my experience!

Is there an electronics store called FRY'S nearby? They usually have great deals on the latest products!

Hope this helps!
