It's good to hear from Yavn, for sure, but I agree with VMK_KrazyLuke, the Newsletter seemed weak. Yeah, there've been previous Yavn Speaks that have said less, but considering how long it's been since an update, and even the last couple of updates have left more questions than answered (this included)... well, I can't help but being underwhelmed.

Still, an advanced, code-generating card game could be great ... I just fear the prizes will be handed out via the dreaded "VMK Random" system. Here's hoping they're not.

Also the Halloween Hat is nifty. I have a Real one I got in the park. And the idea of more avatar costumes is always cool... assuming we actually get new ones and not re-releases...

I haven't come to an opinion yet on the ending of the CL program... Hmm....

Anywho... Good to have you back Yavn. Don't be such a stranger.

I'm very glad to see this newsletter. I was getting very down about Dreams month and haven't even felt like playing much but now with the hope of new Halloween costumes and new weekend pins things look like they could be returning to normal. Woot!

Hey Yavn... Good to hear from ya again!!

I agree that he left alot of questions...and not many answers to them... but at least we can be hqappy that we are getting new Pumpkin Ears! And new costumes... and yea lets hope they are new ones and not all re-release ones!

As for the CL... hm ..well there are some really good ones and some bads ones out there. So sorry for the good ones.... But am glad to see the bad ones go! Maybe they will actually give the CL some duties??

Guess we'll just have to wait and see what else comes along!! So now I am really excited about what can we look forward to for Halloween.. I have some of the Pumkin Ears in real..their cool! And also now we will see the Halloween decorations!!! Cool...

Great Newsletter! Glad to see the CL program is being re-tooled. Shame for the Good CL's out there. But they know that the program was not what it used to be.

As for the CL... hm ..well there are some really good ones and some bads ones out there. So sorry for the good ones.... But am glad to see the bad ones go! Maybe they will actually give the CL some duties??

I guess I'm just puzzled about the concept of "retooling" the program. As long as VMK recruits players for special purposes, there will continue to be leaders who take their position seriously and leaders who don't. I understand if they want to weed the bad ones out, but if the good ones (and I know quite a few) have to start over from scratch, that seems not only unfair but inefficient. Why reinvent the wheel?

A new program won't be an improvement unless it involves better monitoring and better communication. I'm hoping VMK can make that happen, but it really wouldn't surprise me if they do away with these positions for good. That would solve some problems on both sides; no more bad CLs, no more hounding/stalking of good CLs; just people continuing to help because that's what they're used to.

I've spent a lot of time the past couple of weeks telling VMK kids to not believe everything they read and to be patient because the truth will come out.

It's great to see this!

I also believe this IS Yavn because for the life of me, I can't think of one reason VMK would continue to have us believe he is still part of VMK if he actually isn't.

I know what you mean by being puzzled by the concept of "retooling". I honestly wish they defined what they were planning on doing, but again it must be in the development phases. This is where I wish they would have a "User Focus Group" to provide feedback and suggestions from active players. The CL program is totally different from what it was from the beginning. For many a status symbol and they clearly abuse that title for it. I agree with the ineffeciency of having to start from scratch, but it will then start an even playing field for all. In addition, the only way it will work will be by monitoring the CL's. That is where it gets tricky. I have suggestions but there are ways some can abuse it. Hopefully, more specifics come out soon.

My question is this.. Was and is Dreams month fair?? There are only a couple days left and I don't believe everybody's dreams have come true.. There are still many ppl out there that have not received anything for Dreams month.. I personally have received the ears ( Thank you Master Gracy!! ) But there are ppl who have received four and more times while some of the ppl got nothing.. Unless something special happens within the next couple days I really don't think Dreams month was fair at all..

BTW Strange looking hat.. But I'll still buy several!!

He said in the letter that they will not have the "CL" in there title. Never said they were not going to be community leaders or perhaps "spies" to ensure safety around all vmk. If you think about it, when there is a community leader in a room (or a host, staff, etc) do you think any bad behavior will be performed? If we do not know who the leaders are perhaps it will catch a lot more bad behavior and remediate quickly. So cheer up all you community leaders out there. I do not think this is a bad thing.

I can speak from experience that having the CL_ in front of my title hasn't stopped anyone from telling me to "shut up". But hey, when my CL_ gets removed, I guess that will cut down on the amount of "leader plz be my friend!" requests from players I haven't gotten to know.

I love the pumpkin hats they sell in the real parks, and I can't wait for them in VMK! Now I need to figure out how to contact my ISP so I can connect to the server and play the game so I can buy them.
