I might just be impatient, but don't you think we should have a newsletter? What happened every Monday?? Please Post your ideas on why yavn is really being lazy with the newsletters.

Cut the man some slack I believe he has a lot on his plate right now and is working very hard on the next build.

His busy. You know he has to manage a VMK. Like a real life world. 8000 people is on VMK. What do you expect?

Here is to hoping the man is having a Vacation!!:thumbsup2

If I am not mistaken did his one newsletter mention about going over to Tokyo Disneyland in near future , maybe he is there

I'm sure he'll have a good explanation in the next newsletter. I'm expecting one next week, or surely they will have someone available to take his place. :p

Yea, me, I'm going to be the new Yavn from now on. Doesn't CapElDano Speaks just have a nice ring to it? LOL...

Yes, you are right you are being impatient. Yavn never once said that the newsletter would be updated weekly on a Monday- he just did and was good with keeping us updated. Yes, maybe its frustrating not getting some new news, but we need to learn that there wont always be an update, etc.

He adapted to the liking of having a new newsletter each week, and now we have grown to expect one, but yavn and nobody else ever promised that there would be one each week so give it a break and be patient.

Thank you for your time.

P.S. -- Back in the olden days there wasnt a newsletter every week, so let's just be patient and peaceful :hippie:

Didn't the Yavn Speaks column say that it's updated every Monday?

Maybe it did, then again maybe it didn't but that's not what matters. There is a lot of things that I am suspecting going on with VMK right now, and evidently yavn has been busy as he only got on for about a minute or two the other day and that was a first in a week.

Things may have come up which makes things changed. It's not really a big deal if we dont get a newsletter. Big whoop we dont have something new to read when most of it could be good news or bad news.. People just need to be patient and let it go that we dont have a newsletter that is updated.

Back in the olden days, there were no newsletters at all...you had to guess if something would leave stores, come back, etc. When something new came out, you were totally surprised and unaware of what to do... Why do you think beta is so rare? During beta, we had no idea certain items would go away cause there were no newsletters ;).

I was not just refering to beta. I am talking about anything back then within the past two years of my playing time. There was not always newsletter out on a certain day each week, and yes like you said a lot of time we didnt know what to expect. My point is that people just should let it go- we dont have an updated newsletter.. So let it be.

We dont always get what we want.. and not everything is going to be handed to us just the way we like it. So, we need to just let it go and move on until it's time.

Putting aside the fact that this was a clever thread title, I have had an epiphany on the matter.

Two words, VMK-ers:

Behavioral Learning

So begins my Psychology lesson.

Pavlov and Skinner. Two names that will play a heavy role in this lesson (ok, so I lied. I will end up talking about Classical Conditioning as well).

Pavlov is one of the big dogs (hehe) of Classical Conditioning. His experiments involved the salivation of dogs when food was near. He theorized that if he is able to pair that stimulus (the food) with another, neutral stimulus, then theoretically the dog will react with the same response (salivating) to the new stimulus. He tested this out by setting out the dog's food and ringing a bell at the same time. Over the course of several weeks, Pavlov only needed to ring the bell to get the dogs to salivate.

Though Monday was a neutral stimulus, with several months of conditioning, we have been trained to believe that Yavn will post on Mondays, though he never said he would.

Skinner believed in more of a treat/punishment aspect of Learning, otherwise known as Operant Conditioning. For those of you that watch ABC's LOST, you will recognize the Skinner Box. The Skinner Box was a cage where rats would press a lever and be rewarded with a treat. There are varying techniques on when a reinforcement is given. What Yavn did was to change up the reinforcement schedule, thus we have absolutely no idea when we will get our treat. We used to be on a Fixed-Interval Schedule (a schedule of reinforcement that reinforces a response only after a specified time has elapsed) but now it appears that we are on a Variable-Interval Schedule (schedule of reinforcement that reinforces a response at unpredictable time intervals).

Thus, I can conclude that several of us are not in fact, impatient, but merely going through the throes of learned helplessness. What we believed to be true (Yavn Mondays) is shown to be an illusion, thus we cannot effectively rely on getting weekly Yavn posts. And with all the new stuff coming out, folks are addictively awaiting Yavn posts.

Combine that need to have Yavn posts with a Variable-Interval Schedule...

I thought they closed Yavn down at DLR to make way for Nemo ride? If they took away his kiosk, how do you expect the man to have internet access? Just Joking around oh great white mickey glove.

Seriously after all the new dark rides and furnishings, treehouses, games and the upcoming events, I think the whole team deserves some rest and even a few weeks off. I am sure Yavn will will get around to the newsletter and when he does it will be a great one

Nemp? (Just Kidding!)

I'm going to chalk it up to some personnel changes at VMK. Something Yavn eluded to earlier. Don't we have some new in-game Staff? Additionally, the Yeti's column has been less frequent (albeit with more information, although some of it has been incorrect, and yes I did "Contact Us"!) And the Push's Trivia has been on a different schedule... Did you notice that two weeks ago there were Six winners rather than the usual Three? I think that question was up for two weeks.

Just my two credits.

I think he's just really busy right now. We have no idea on what is happening behind the scenes.

Just be patient and we'll eventually get that newsletter. :goodvibes
