We are visiting WDW next week. This is our 1st ever visit. We are so excitied. We have reservations for June 12 @ the Yachtsman Steakhouse. When I placed the reservation the lady told me there is a dress code, but she was not sure what it is!

Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

I would say kahki's or similar for men and a collared shirt. Ladies could do a dress, sun dress, bermuda shorts or kakahi slacks.....

The "code" is the WDW version of business casual--which allows for dress shorts and jeans. A collared shirt is required. The ladies may wear jeans, skirts, dresses or dress shorts with sweater or blouse.
Will the code be enforced?? Probably not. Don't be at all suprised if you find folks dining at Yachtsman in all sorts of attire.

Last December I showed up in a new disney tshirt and nice shorts and nothing was said. of course YMMV.

The dress code change is recent. Also I spoke with a friend that works at the Yachtsman and they had a meeting with the staff and management about the dress code this past week. With emphasis on what is accepted and enforcement.

For anyone going I would not risk spoiling your evening by not going prepared for this. :thumbsup2

i was at the yachtsman at the end of april this year. and there was no noticeable enforcement of any dress code. there were collared shirts and no collared shirts. jean shorts, khakis. as long as you dont look like a total bum, you will have no problem.

We went about four months after they said the new rules were in effect.

The lounge next to Yachtman's also offers the Yachtman's full menu (along with an appetizer menu). It has some normal type booths so it feels like a restaurant. This weekend my wife and I ate their because we were wearing shorts. Didn't feel comfortable in eating in a relatively high-end restaurant wearing shorts.
