Well I need to have a yard sale badly and I was thinking about the 25 of April. But my question is, do you think if I had it the weekend after Easter that not many would show up? I say that bc where I am in NJ, the week of Easter is my DD spring break. Bc of her being off from the 10 to the 17 of April I thought that the following weekend would be better. But as I look at all the stuff I have laying around just waiting to be sold or at least tempting to be sold I feel as though I need it sooner than later. I know a week is not so long but inthis clutter it is.:) What do you all think?

Hope that all makes sense.

I say go for it on whichever weekend is better for you. I'm in NJ too and by April 25th the weather should be a bit warmer, even warmer than on the 19th. I think garage salers will come, regardless of the date and weather. Baseball/softball season will be in full swing, soccer games will be on, people will be out and busy and could be looking forward to getting away from it all and do a little shopping!

And it has to be warm and sunny on the 25th. My twins have their Communion and I can't fit 68 crazy Catholics in my house!!!

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I will just suck it up and deal with my clutter for an additional week. I hope the weather starts to get warmer........I hate the cold. Good luck on your "crazy Catholics":rotfl:

I think that is a fine weekend. Spring is a good time for a yard sale and i think a lot of people are out and about looking. Don't forget to put it on Craig's list and list some of the items that you have. We did great doing this last fall. We had many people stopping and asking about different items they saw listed. I think we got more people due to that than the add in the paper.

I have found out that we have a better response if we have it as close to the first of the month as you can. That's when some folks get paid.

My development is having a huge yard sale April 25th and I have waited all year for it and guess what we will be camping. GREAT timing. :sad1: I was hoping to make some Disney Dollars for our Sept 09 trip. Guess we have the rest of spring and summer.

yup, works every time. SS checks, pension and disability usually comes in on the 1st so try to plan around it if you can.
