so I'm coming to the experts!:thumbsup2

I have a few items to sell and I can't decide on prices. Can you help me out?

Bauer roller blades - new in 1990 - used about 1/2 dozen times

X Country skiis - Tempest Trek?? - came with house

Bread machine - mom gave to me - I never used, looks fairly new and has all parts and booklet

Some weird item mom gave DH called "Light Relief" - it's about 4"x8" in a little black bag - I think some kind of pain relief item she bought off TV?? :rotfl:
We have never used it

6mo size Robeez bought new for $24 - well used but still in good shape. I have the original bag and stuffing

Dept 56 "Silver Bells Christmas Shop" - DSisIL gave to me one Xmas - not my thing, I've never opened it

Two sets of Chronicles of Narnia from my childhood - one PB set, well used, one SciFi Book Club hardcover set, first two books in fair cond. (I actually read those :lmao: ) other 5 books in good-v.good condition.

George Foreman Grill Jumbo size - new in box, about five? years old

Thanks a bunch!

From what I have read in different blogs or yard/garage sale sites is that you should price your items at least a 1/4 of what you purchased the item for. Me however, I aim a little higher just in case they try to haggle with ya.

Also if I have a NIB item, I aim high for that as well. If you have an item that was given to you or you obtained free somehow I would estimate the price of the item and go from there.

I bought some water, fruit juice and popsicles to sell tomorrow as well. Your bread machine will go for certain. So aim high on that one.

Good luck tomorrow!

I sold some roller blades last week for $5, men's, barely used, I don't know the brand.

sorry I am not so good when it comes to garage sale pricing..

but wanted to say Good Luck!

On the grill I would say at least $10-- if its the one Im thinking about those go for around $100 new.. right??

Are you part of a town wide yard sale? I'm headed up to my Uncles house in NH for that very reason tomorrow. He lives in the Lake Winnipesaukee area.

Cool!

Thanks for the responses so far! We are not in the Lakes Region, but have fun up there! No neighborhood-wide sales over here, although I keep thinking I should organize one.

Anyone else have any ideas on prices for me?

TIA

I always bring stuff up on ebay just to see what things cost about. The Dept 56 thing may be retired and worth something. Doublecheck before putting out in the yard!

Good luck to ya!

I am right in the middle of my yearly huge yardsale ($250 so far woohooo!) and this is what I'd price the stuff at (keep in mind, small town TN here)

Bauer roller blades - new in 1990 - used about 1/2 dozen times ($5 maybe, is there an area that people can use them where you live? that is the type of item that wouldn't sell at all here)

X Country skiis - Tempest Trek?? - came with house (what kind of condition? Do you have the boots? I wouldn't put more than $10 because the new owner will have to buy new clampy dohickies for the boots they own)

Bread machine - mom gave to me - I never used, looks fairly new and has all parts and booklet (I would do $10 on the bread machine only because they are numerous in the sales here, new ones are $40ish)

Some weird item mom gave DH called "Light Relief" - it's about 4"x8" in a little black bag - I think some kind of pain relief item she bought off TV??
We have never used it (lol I have no idea?)

6mo size Robeez bought new for $24 - well used but still in good shape. I have the original bag and stuffing (I personally wouldn't pay more than $1 for well used Robeez)

Dept 56 "Silver Bells Christmas Shop" - DSisIL gave to me one Xmas - not my thing, I've never opened it (i am not sure)

Two sets of Chronicles of Narnia from my childhood - one PB set, well used, one SciFi Book Club hardcover set, first two books in fair cond. (I actually read those ) other 5 books in good-v.good condition. (books tend to hold a high sentimental value but I'd price these 25cents -$1)

George Foreman Grill Jumbo size - new in box, about five? years old (I bought a brand new jumbo forman grill on black friday for $30 at walmart. I'd do $5 or less).

I hope that helps and good luck with your sale!

bauer makes good blades. if there is a hockey rink anywhere in your area, i would def price higher than $5........maybe $20 if they're in excellent cond :)

Thanks everyone, for your help. Our yard sale was a success - we made $180 and got rid of a lot of stuff. I thought you all might be interested in the final selling price of these items:

Bauer roller blades - new in 1990 - used about 1/2 dozen times - I priced at $8, would have come down but had ZERO interest.

X Country skiis - Tempest Trek?? - came with house - I put out unmarked - no one asked about them. I think they are REALLY old

Bread machine - mom gave to me - I never used, looks fairly new and has all parts and booklet - I priced at $10, no one even took a look so marked down to $8, still no takers

Some weird item mom gave DH called "Light Relief" - it's about 4"x8" in a little black bag - I think some kind of pain relief item she bought off TV??
We have never used it - decided not to put it out this time

6mo size Robeez bought new for $24 - well used but still in good shape. I have the original bag and stuffing - priced these at $4, no takers - I'll mark down to $2 for my next sale

Dept 56 "Silver Bells Christmas Shop" - DSisIL gave to me one Xmas - not my thing, I've never opened it - I priced at $25, had interest right away and sold in the first 1/2 hour for $20

Two sets of Chronicles of Narnia from my childhood - one PB set, well used, one SciFi Book Club hardcover set, first two books in fair cond. (I actually read those ) other 5 books in good-v.good condition. - I priced the hardcover set at $5 and the paperback set at $3 and both were snatched up at that price right away.

George Foreman Grill Jumbo size - new in box, about five? years old - I priced at $20. Had a woman ask me a great question I will remember when I am out buying - "What is the lowest you will take?" I said $12 and she took it at that price.

GLad you had a great sale. We wound up closing down early because it was just too HOT:faint: We packed everything up and are going to try again in the fall!
