I am in Pittsburgh, PA and it is very cold. I was wondering if anyone has had a yard sale during the dead of winter or do you think I should just do an ebay yard sale! Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks for the test drive information. We are looking to purchase a car real soon so test drives help narrow down or think about a car we would have not considered.

Well I live in Ohio and there is no way I would go to a yard sale in the winter way to cold out there for me. What are you trying to sale? We did ebay with clothes that my daughter out grew.Didn't make a lot of money but it was easier than going out in the cold. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hey! I grew up near Verona and I remember winter in the 'Burgh. No way, no how would I attempt a garage sale in February in Pittburgh. Youns would have to be nuts!

Check some of you local churches to see if they will be having a childrens' turnabout sale. A couple of churches in my area do it twice a year. Once right before the spring and again right after the school year begins. For a small sellers fee and a percentage of your take, they do all the selling. You only need to mark the clothes with a short description, size and asking price. Drop the clothes off at the church a couple of days before the sale and pick up your money the day after it ends. All leftover clothes can either be picked up then or else can be donated to charity. I made over $200 a few years ago with my kids' outgrowns. I plan to do it again this spring. If you can'f find a church that does this, maybe you can convince your church to give it a try. Everybody wins with a set up like this; the sellers, the buyers, the church and the charities.

Also, look into a few of the indoor flea markets. You may be able to get a booth for just one weekend. Certainly would beat being outside in the frigid weather.

Save your collectibles for eBay. Anything that may interest a collector will probably get you a better price there than you could command at a garage sale or flea market. List them individually, not as a lot of items.

Hope some of these I ideas helped. Keep a warm thought and just remember, it could be worse. It could be cold AND snowing!

We live in Maryland and have been having March yardsales for a few years now. They are always a big hit and we make a good amount of money. We try to watch the weather for a relatively warm Saturday. The yardsalers seem to be ready for the new season to start and want to spend their money and there aren't many during that month so there isn't much competition. We were just discussing this week about which Saturday this March we wanted to shoot for. Good luck!
