OK, I read all the raves on these Yankee products and went out to get a warmer and tarts. Fine. They smell good. Fine. But then they STOP smelling! Like on day 2 or 3! My mom said she has the same complaint. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks! :cool1:

Uh yeah, that's kind of the whole idea behind tarts, is that you aren't stuck with the same scent for that long.

yep..that is how they work. Some scents only last one tea light worth (4 hours)...some 4 -5 .....just depends.
I love them!

OK fine, but then what do you do with the liquified wax? I just sucked it up with a paper towel. If they want them to last for 4-5 hours thats fine, but don't leave me with 6 DAYS full of wax!

Wait for it to harden and it comes right out. Well, with the warmer I have, it comes right out anyway. I just push down on the side of the hardened wax and it pops right out of the warmer.

OK. I'll try that.

If the wax doesn't just pop out, put your entire burner into the freezer for about 5-10 minutes, then the wax should pop right out.
There are other tarts out there that the scents do last a bit longer. It also depends on the tart scent itself, some are stronger then others.

that's what I do too.

Mine last several tea lights. Maybe 3 or 4 but I don't burn all day.

I find it easier to pour out the wax when it is melted, or let the bottom melt and pop it out.

The scent doesn't last as long, but you are looking at .99-1.99 versus $25.00+ for the jars.

I am usually getting tired of the smell anyway by the time the scent goes away.

I like the tarts best. Like someone else said, it really depends on the scent as to how long it lasts. Key Lime Pie lasts a long time and is one of my favorites. Sweet Strawberry doesn't last anytime at all.

If you want the scent to last longer, try melting down a votive instead. Just pull out the wick before you melt it. You will have more wax, but the scent should last longer.

I recently bought an electric tart burner and use it constantly! The Yankee tarts say right on them that they are good for up to 8 hours. To remove mine, I heat up the cold used tart for about 10 minutes (the bottom just starts to melt) and then use a plastic knife to pop the tart out. I soak up the little bit of melted wax with a paper towel before putting in a new tart.

My favorite so far is Strawberry. I also like the Christmas Berries scent.

i am another one that puts the burner in the freezer.....upsdie down for 10 minutes or so, it falls right out.

I melt the votives in my mini crock. They last a few days longer than the tarts. I just pour the wax out while it's still melted.

OT

If you want something where the scent lasts forever buy the Yankee Candle Reed Diffusers. I bought (for the first time), "Home For The Holidays" YC reed diffuser. IT IS AWESOME. No worries about a lite candle at all. And all you do is flip the reeds every few days. Easy.

I opened this one on 12/1 and I am going to keep a check to see how long it lasts.

My family has commented on how lovely it smells.....and they don't usually notice things like that. All in all, an A+ for YC on the reed diffusers.

This, on both accounts. YC Cherry Lemonade is strong as heck and lasts forever, but I've tried others that only seem to last a day or so.

And if the freezer trick doesn't work (though it should), I've also pried the hardened wax out quite easily with a butter knife. I'd only try that with a sturdier warmer, though, not one of the pretty glass YC ones.

Incidentally, you can also melt votives in tart warmers, particularly if they have easily-removable wicks like Partylite candles. I bought a bunch of votives at a party recently and rather than dig up votive holders, I've been burning them this way. :)

Thought this thread was going to be about A-Rod.:confused3......back to browsing.;)
