Yakatori House in Japan (Epcot)

Its our favorite park counter service restaurant! I love their Tonosama combo, it has a bit of everything. My husband and I love to go there and sit outside in the lovely little garden area. Its always quiet and peaceful. We enjoy having a late dinner there, and then just walking out to see Illuminations. Its never as crowded in that area of World Showcase so its easy to get a good spot. We also love the Kirin beer, its very good and I love their ginger cake for a different sort of sweet treat. My son love their sushi, I can't comment since I don't eat sushi. But he has had plenty and says there is very good. And very reasonable.

Give it a try and hopefully you'll like it as much as we do!

You mean YUKitori? Totally gross dark greasy, fatty thigh meat doesnt do it for me

I'll admit, I took a pause when I read about the thigh meat. Is it really fatty and greasy? 'Cause that would make me hurl.

Why can't they have something simple like an eggroll??

Yeah, the thigh meat thing sort of isn't my favorite. I don't find it fatty or greasy however. It doesn't have the skin on it which helps. No restaurant is for everyone but we have eaten there usually twice, on all 12 of our Disney trips and really enjoyed it. For the lovely outdoor seating and the food!

I believe egg rolls are chinese food. They do have a cs place in China that has egg rolls. Although I thought that was some disgusting, greasy food there!

If you don't like dark meat chicken, this place is not the best. I have no idea why they don't serve white meat chicken. However, I like the chicken there, and I never eat dark meat anyplace else. I also have to say the shrimp udon is very good.

But if you want egg rolls, you need to head to China in the World Showcase to find those!

Sorry, *spring* roll. But I didn't see that on the menu.....;)

Any other suggestions for places to grab a snack in Japan? My daughter is obsessed with all things Japanese so I know she will want to eat there. But we are trying to limit our TS dining and don't have an ADR anyway.

Thanks!

There is a little stand called Kaki Gori that serves these Japanese ices. They are very refreshing and not that expensive. They also serve the Kirin beer I can't stop talking about!:rotfl:

I will also say that Tokyo Dining is wonderful. And far more reasonable than many of the other ts places in Epcot. It is truly a wonderful experience of Japanese style dining. Its not the Bennihana type place (that is Tepan Edo). They have a huge variety of Japanese food and they have white meat chicken! You can get a full meal with sides for $20 or less there. And it comes with tea so you don't need to order a beverage.

And last minute ADR's or even walk ups are pretty easy at Tokyo Dining.

Thanks, I just booked a ressie for Tokyo, Sunday a week from today! The menu looks too good to pass up. Maybe we can share and be thrifty!

Thanks for your help! :flower3:

You can definitely share. The portions are huge! I got the tempura and could nowhere near finish it. So next time we'll be sharing.

One note (and this may not even apply to you) they do not take the DDE (or Tables in Wonderland as its now called) at this place.

I hope you like it!

This use to be our favorite but no more it is YUKitory now. The meat is terrible.

I just had the beef curry this past Sunday. It was awesome! The meat was really lean.

Come on now, what Japanese food loving person orders chicken teriyaki in a Japanese restaurant anyway? We usually order the udon or the curry, both typical homestyle food which we usually have a craving for when we are at WDW. I like Yakitori House and love the kaki goris

Love, love, LOVE the Yakitori House. Very peaceful up there so long as children aren't tearing about (edited to delete rant about mothery-types lest one of the moderators acts all mothery at me)

Anyway, try the Udon. Scrumptious!

The food is good, although my husband laughs everytime we go in. They don't serve Yakatori.

Yes, that is funny! We used to get Yakitori there years ago - my son loved the "meat on a stick". They either need to change the menu, or the name!

It's my kids' favorite place for food at Epcot. They love rice, it is so much nicer than french fries. I like the beer! I can always find something there to like, and the kids meals are just right for them, or me when I'm not super hungry.

I have never eaten anything there except the Ginger Salad and GReen Tea. There is something about that dressing that I love and its very refreshing on a hot day
