We are at WDW now...went up to the concierge (sp) to try and get reservations to eat somewhere at Animal Kingdom tomorrow. She said "about what time". I said anytime around 5PM. She said that the only thing she had available was the Yak & Yeti. WOW...I thought they were not taking res until January?

Ohhh think maybe theyre only taking advanced res's from Jan and same day reservations are available as of opening maybe?

As of Dec. 3rd, they began taking ADRs for Yak & Yeti. I called to make a dinner reservation for January...and they said Yak & Yeti will close at 5pm when the park closes at 5pm. So--no dinner there.

Anyone else think that is odd?????

Because of the positioning of the resturant (being right at the back of the park) I'm not surprised at this. The only day its likely to be open later is when the extra magic hours are on. Remember unlike the other parks this park has feeding and things to do once the park closes so everything closes down in the park on time. If the resturant was near the front of the park like where the main shops are then they probably would have had it open but they want to clear all the upper areas quickly as this is where the main animals are

They went on the system last thursday. Also We had 4.45 pm reservations and ate a leisurely dinner. Walked out about 6.30 pm and we were not the last.

I really like this place. Food is good, service is good. And a full bar!!!

We have 5:00 ressies on a day that the park closes at 5:00. Will the buses still be running back to the resorts or another park? We are not renting a car, so it sure would be a hassle if we got stuck there. Any ideas? I am sure that they wouldn't let me make an ADR for that late if there wouldn't be any transportation running, right?

They run for 2 hours after the park closes (although actually sometimes run longer) so yes you should have no problem at all

Thank You I read this last night & called. I have a ADR for our Christmas Trip. I am thrilled.

You're all going to love it!! I just ate there last week, walked up in the afternoon and made a reservation for 6:00 that evening (it was an extra magic hours night).

The inside is beautiful, they have seats overlooking the walkway/parade route in Asia, and the food is terrific. It's arguably the best Asian restaurant on property now.

Our meals were awesome...absolutely loved the food. I had the steak and shrimp meal and DW had the Mahi. The only suggestion I might make is that if you get the Mahi, ask for the sause "on the side". DW scraped most of the sause off the fish so that it would not overwhelm the taste. With that being said, she still thought it was the best.

You must have at least one person in your party get the Mango Pie for desert...this is to die for.

Thank you so much for your posting! I just was able to call for reservations for this Friday! You just helped make our trip complete!

Actually, they started taking ADRs a few days before that. I made ADRs 12/1 for 12/4. The CM I spoke with said that they had opened for ADRs a little early. I had the lettuce cups (good, but a little spicy for me), duck, and sorpbet (mango-delicious). I wasn't really hungry but I'd vowed to go, so the food was just OK to me-maybe if I'd been hungrier. Beautiful theming, though-
