Yak & Yeti Restaurant or Flame Tree BBQ for lunch?

My DH and I have trouble finding a good place to eat at AK. We have an ADR for Yak & Yeti but we know a table service for lunch takes up some of our prime park time and are considering cancelling unless it is just really great food. Our alternate choice is Flame Tree BBQ which takes up less time being quick service. Which do you recommend or is there alternate choice we should consider?

Yak & Yeti is one of favorite restaurants on property. We eat there at least twice a trip. It is absolutely worth the time spent. Their Kobe burger is the best burger in WDW, IMO, and all of their entrees are fantastic-especially the miso salmon, duck and steak. The decor is stunning as well.

What month are you going? Remember that Yak and Yeti, being indoors, is air conditioned-you might welcome that break!

We like both. If you choose Yak & Yeti, you must have the fried won-ton dessert. The server talked me in to trying it last time and it is wonderful.

Yak and Yeti is a must-do for us also. YUM

If you don't want to spend the time for a Table service at Yak & Yeti then i would consider doing their Quick service.
Less options than the TS menu but we have done both TS and QS there and enjoyed each time.

We thought Y&Y was pretty good, but we waited for quite some time to sit even with an ADR and it wasn't a "really busy" time of year either. That being said we have seen Hambre Mkt and many of the quick service lines very long and they can take some time to get through as well (although once you order you get your food pretty quickly). Easily allow 1 1/2 hrs for Y&Y, if you are pressed for time I'd say go with Flame Tree. But also keep in mind if you decide to do lunch at Y&Y it would be a nice break from the heat.::yes::

I have some photos from our dinner experience if you'd like to take a look: YAK & YETI - DINNER -PHOTOS

What I didn't like about the counter service at Yak & Yeti is all the birds scavenging food from the tables.

Is the QS food at Yak & Yeti the same as the TS menu?

I don't think there are a lot of the same things, but i believe there are a few things , such as the Honey Chicken, that you can find on both menus.

If you choose a table at the Y&Y restaurant, the sushi roll appetizer was our favorite thing there. So delicious!

We didn't care for y&y. Chinese restaurants at home are at least as good . I would go to flame tree. Food is good and seating by the water is very relaxing. Much better atmosphere than y&y. We found that even in august mid day the shade and breeze off the water was enough to make it comfortable to eat.
