Yak & yeti or Rainforest Cafe

We have a party of 10 that includes 6 adults and 4 kids ages 2, 5, 7, & 8...we can't decide on Yak & Yeti or Rainforest Cafe. Both look really good and I have read good reviews on both.

Also we are having a hard time deciding on a restaurant at Epcot...Does anyone have any ideas for there?

Rainforest Cafe, we absolutely love it.

Epcot - Akershus, since you have little ones? Le Cellier is my favorite.

Definitely RFC. I forgot the name of it, but they have a cheese (& ?, I forget)dip with chips that is great!!! We went to HOB in January so I missed my trip to RFC, but I'll be back in April for my dip fix!!!

At Epcot, I would choose Coral Reef. Children love to eat while watching the fish and the food and service are great also. Try the chocolate wave and the blackened catfish and grits. YUM!!!!

We aren't bit RFC fans. The food is similar to what you'd get at Bennigans or TGI Fridays and the atmosphere can be pretty chaotic. With all of those kids, you might not notice the chaotic. The food is ok but nothing special.

We haven't been to Yaki & Yeti yet but are going on our next trip. The menu looks good.

Yak & Yeti. The food is good. I've been to RFC at WDW and Las Vegas and disliked the food at both. It's really just a themed chain.

We recently went to Yak and Yeti (owned by the same company that does RFC)
and we really liked it!!! I was surprised as I was leary about eating there. Does your family like asian food? If so, you would really like it too. Here are a few pics from our meal at Yak and Yeti's

My family loves Chinese food and we usually eat it once a month so maybe that is why we liked it so much? The food was YUMMY!

I'd definitely say Yak and Yeti - even though I haven't even been there yet. You can go to Rainforest Cafe anywhere. You can only go to Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom.

Pork Pot Stickers - pan seared or steamed, soy lime dipping sauce $7.49

These are in no order.... the pot stickers are actually an appy

Pork Egg Rolls - chili plum dipping sauce $7.99

Dim Sum Basket - Pork pot stickers, shrimp siu mai, cha su bao, and pork sie mai steamed on a banana leaf, soy lime dipping sauce $12.99

Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork - Tempura chicken or pork, ginger, garlic, bell peppers, pineapple $15.99

As I said, this was one of the best food places we ate at. I have no idea why the bad reviews we liked it just as much as Les Ciellers!

Maybe some people don't like Chinese food or the lack of entertainment while you eat? not sure but the food was REALLY GOOD!

I"m sorry and not picking on you but this line always cracks me up -- you can't go to RFC anywhere -- I live in Illinois and there are 3 here I think -- all in the Chicago area and hours from me. I just checked to make sure and only 15 continental states have RFC so there are alot of people out there that don't have one near them at all.

That said I would still pick RFC but I am not a fan of the menu at Yak n Yeti.

The food is MUCH better at Y&Y, The RFC food is no better than you can find in any strip mall restaurant like TGIF, Chili's etc. I personally think Y&Y is much more Disney also as RFC is a chain that can be found outside of Disney.

We live right up the road from RFC and we have eaten there several times. My husband and I both think the food is average at best. But the environment is cool for the kids if they aren't scared of the noise ("thunderstorms" and animals). My family would not choose the restaurant for its food so we would go with Yak n Yeti (and plan to on our next trip).

Though we haven't been to Yak and Yeti, I would vote for it. We hate RFC, and would never waste our time or money there again. We aren't picky eaters but, nothing we have tried there was good. Can't wait to get to Yak and Yeti in August.

I would think the poster you quoted meant "RFC is available around the cintinental US where as Yak & Yeti is only in AK" which is a statemnet I would completely agree with.

RFC, no matter how you look at, it's a chain restaurant. Yes, the theming is cool, but it is still an overpriced chain restaurant. My kids do love it. When we were choosing our restaurants for Disney, they were't too pleased that I said
