I don’t know why I keep on second-guessing myself; but, I suppose being on this board all the time will do that to you :scared:
For our day at AK, we’re going to have breakfast at Tusker House and have a currently scheduled early dinner at Yak & Yeti. But now, I’m thinking of doing dinner at Boma. Which one do you think we should choose?

I have not eaten at Yak & Yeti but I have eaten at BOMA almost every time I go to Disney. I would eat at BOMA. The food is excellent and reasonably priced for Disney. Go with an empty stomach and an adventurous spirit. You will love it. I still pine for the palaver stew the last time I ate there. :thumbsup2

Boma! Boma! Boma! HANDS DOWN. our party of 15 *hated* Y&Y ( and we had such high hopes ). I'll grant that many people on the boards, liked Y&Y, but Boma was just such a great place with a huge selection for everyone that I wouldn't even bat an eyelash.

The only drawback of course, is needing the leave the park.

BOMA for sure. BOMA is the only must eat restaurant for me at WDW. In fact on my last three trip is was the only ADR I made in advance.

We've done Yak & Yeti and it was our second favorite meal of our trip last September. We had an ADR at Boma and cancelled it as we were tired and one of my "top food critics" on the DIS did not like it and she has never steered me wrong. I wasn't particularly keen on the ADR anyway...DH wanted it. I'm not into different spices and flavors on my food which is a lot of what Boma serves. So my pick would be Yak & Yeti.

We've tried Yak twice and we just aren't impressed at all. That pho was the single worst thing I've ever eaten at WDW.

We eat at Boma every trip for our first meal. We've never been disappointed.

Yak and Yeti has a great atmosphere inside with food that was just okay to good.
Boma has a nice interior with a very good buffet. Everything seems great quality but there are some slightly exotic things so you may not like everything.

Hands down Yak & Yeti...awesome food...unless you like alot of cinnamon and vanilla in your dinner foods then go to Boma

I agree with MickeyNicki, we did both last year and Yak and Yeti was one of our best meals. For some reason I don't really remember much about our Boma dinner though.

I've had both on my past trip. Boma is the better of the two. Both in quality and value.

I would chose Yak and Yeti. I have been twice and loved everything that was ordered by each member of my family. I have gone to Boma once, I couldn't wait to eat there after reading the reviews on the DIS. I was very disappointed it just wasn't my thing however I loved the soups. But I wanted more for dinner than just soup, my DH and DS weren't impressed either and filled up on zebra domes.

We've never been to Yak and Yeti. But Boma is a must do for us, sometime's twice in one trip. It's just that good. Sorry I can't compare the two. After Boma we love to grab a glass of wine and head out to the firepit and for the animal viewing. Makes for a wonderful evening!

This is really one of those personal taste decisions.

Personally I like Boma better for breakfast than dinner. At dinner I LOVED the carrot ginger soup but didn't enjoy most of the other dishes as much as I'd expected to. I guess my taste buds aren't as adventurous as I thought.

Yak & Yeti may actually be one of my new favorites. The fried green beans are delish and the dessert wontons - YUM! I also enjoyed the miso glazed salmon and tempura shrimp.

:wizard: I think it depends on the type of meal you're looking for. Boma is a buffet, Yak and Yeti and sit down dinner. There is a greater selection at Boma and you can sample lots of different food. Yak and Yeti is a more traditional Chinese style restaurant. Yak and Yeti is in AK, which is convenient if you are already in the park and Boma is in the AKL, which is a great place to walk around before or after dinner. We have been to both and really like both of them, but if we could only do one it would be Boma.
