Has there been any info as to what type of food Yak & Yeti is going to have?

I have a child with a peanut and tree nut allergy and I'm wondering if this restaurant is gonna be off limits for us...

I'm trying to make some plans for a spring break trip and I'll be able to make ADRs in about a week. (Although, I know Y&Y is still not taking ADRs as of today.)

It is supposed to be both lunch and dinner, correct?

Any thread going that is watching for the ADRs to open that I can subscribe to?

Thanks!

Asian fusion--not sure which kinds of Asian cuisines will be "fused", though. No menu's been put out yet.

Was just there last week, and I guess it could be open by the end of 07, but they still have a lot of work to do. It looks pretty neat so far. Can't wait.

You could try contacting Disney dining to find out if they have information on the menu or a phone number for the chef. I have 2 kids with peanut/tree nut allergies and we always avoid any type of asian restaurant, so Yak & Yeti is probably off limits for us, unless the fusion involves eliminating the nuts and nut oils traditional found in asian cooking.

Just call ahead and tell them. Most restaurants will be able to do something special for you or at the very least let you know its off limits.

We have the same allergy in our family. Asian places are always off the list...no matter how careful we are. You just never know what is going to have a nut or peanut butter in it. We have even been to chinese places where they put nuts in the egg rolls (can you believe it)!! Too many oil transfers I would imagine. I'm sure you can find somewhere else to dine while at animal kingdom. Then on a trip without your child you can try it!!
(I'm still waiting for that one to happen). Best of luck.

:)

your kidding right??? yes I can belive the egg rolls have nuts and I can sympathise with food allergies I have them also Im I also suffer from anphylaxia allergy induces. But can I belive that avacados are in sandwiches all over the country and guacamole whats that about ok thats me being abnoxious.

Peanuts are a cultural thing in asia they were intraduced to china in the 1600 of course there all over there food as they are all over most of asia. I wouldn't be shocked to find them in eggrolls or anything else. Anyhow I do understand airborn allergies since Im allergic to mold. and I know this is different but to be honest if people ate mold and there was a restaurant serving it I woudn't be suprised or offended I'd just avoid it like the plague and move on.

I believe ther are alot of non nut places in disney you may want to call adr and request a list. and Im not trying to be mean it just suprises me sometimes how self contained we are sometimes you have to look outside the bubble. Best of luck with your disney vacation I know I also have to call dinning for my allergies and hope for the best

Evi, my daughter has had this allergy since she was one - she is now nine. I take it very seriously. But, I have not seen any menu or indication as to what this restaurant will be serving so I thought I would ask if anyone has heard. A Disney chef is not exactly like the cook down at the Chinese restaurant in the nearby grocery store shopping center. We avoid Chinese restaurants, always have. I was hoping this place might be different. Never hurts to ask!

We go to WDW ALOT, my daughter has already been fourteen times and we have three trips in the works right now. I definitely know the drill - I have them make notation on our ADRs, I call the number they give me beforehand, I remind them at the podium and again to the server so I can talk with the chef. I even email food and beverage before the trips and get an updated list for the counter service and food carts. She has eaten at very few Epcot restaurants because they won't guarantee. I'm not in a bubble, I assure you.
