AND I know cause I was the one who called!

this may be common knowledge... but I didn't know it... then again, I'm not common :rotfl:

I called today to make our Yak & Yeti Resrvation.
First thing I should mention is you can ONLY call 180 days out - the plus 10 DOES NOT APPLY

I called around 7:00 a.m. like I always do and got right through, In 8 days of calling I only waited once for less than 10 minutes including the prompts. (my phone times every call :confused3)

I asked for a reservation time of 5:00, she said had 4:45 available, I said fine I'd take it! :thumbsup2

I also said, wow is it pretty booked up? she replied, they are closing at 5:00, I said oh, when do they open... brace yourself.... She said 4:00 :scared:

I indicated we were booking during a EMH night, so we still hoped to enjoy the park when we got out and she said she could then give me the 5:00 reservation time. I said I was quite happy with 4:45 and went on to make another ressie.

I just thought that you all might like to know the limited hours and if you are staying onsite mention it to give you a little extra ADR time during EMH nights.
I think during non EMH nights they probably stay open later, since they don't have the clearing out the park of non resort guests, but the CM did say sometimes they are open for hour only :lmao: :rotfl:

hope this helps anyone who is trying to book YAK AND YETI!!!! :goodvibes

We are Eating at Yak and Yeti on a Non-EMH day and was offered
5:00pm. Hopefully we will be able to eat? I wonder if anyone else has
eaten at 5:00pm on a NON-EMH day?

I found out about the
180 rule when calling 180+10 and it was not allowed to I had to call
back on the excact 180 day.

I might be totally wrong but I think they are opened all day and only have one menu. It's not like the other restaurants at wdw who have a lunch and dinner menu.

Yay I found out about the 180 days exactly on monday. I have to call tomorrow for our ADR.

even though my ADR is for an EMH night, 4:45 was the latest I could get.

Wait a minute...I'm a little confused:confused3 ...we have a 7pm ADR on an EMH night. I specifically wanted that time.

There last seating must be at 5:00pm since we were able to get that
not on an EMH. I asked the CM what was the latest time I could get for
Dinner and was told 5:00pm and that busses to the resort will run for an
additional 2 hours after park is closed.
The day that you are going is probably very busy because of the extra people going to EMH (we always avoid EMH because of crowds) The only thing that was available because of the amount of people was 4:45pm.

Yes it isn't Disney own. I had the same discovery with Raglan Road. I suspect RR was on the list of the exceptions to but wasn't positive.

I had a 5pm ADR for Tusker house on a non EMH night. She said they were only open from 4-5pm as well. We ended up changing to Boma just because I didn't want to stress about transportation with the park closing at 5. I didn't want to feel rushed.

I called yesterday and made a reservation for 2:00 and she told me she had openings starting at noon and going all the way to 4:45, so I was under the impression they opened for lunch and stayed open through dinner?

We were just there yesterday. They started taking "walk ups" outside the main door at around 10:30AM. Doors opened at 11. On the EMH evening the night before, they were still open when when we walked by around 8PM. We had no trouble getting in by just walking up and asking both times (once for lunch and once for EMH dinner). Don't really know about ADRs. I know all food at WDW is pricey, but it was a bit ridiculous. We were not on the dining plan and for our lunch of 2 entrees and one side of steamed rice, no alcohol, without tip was $45.00.:sad1:

Thanks!
This makes me feel better since we have a 7pm ADR there for this July. I was starting to get a little nervous after reading some of the previous posts.

Hi Everyone. Can you make ressies 180 + 10 days from checkout date or check in date at other restaurants?

If you are staying onsite at a WDW Resort you can make ADRs for most
restaurants 180+10 but with Yak & Yeti I had to call on the exact 180 days
before. I guess since it is not owned by Disney they don't allow the +10 bonus.

She said they were only open from 4-5pm as well.

Were they only open for DINNER for that hour? Tusker House is open for lunch which is $19.99. Dinner is $26.99. So if someone called and asked for a reservation for dinner, then those would be the hours. But the restaurant itself wasn't just open for only one hour.

Wait! Wait............this is news to me. Out of all the times I have been to WDW, and all the years I have been DISing, I NEVER knew this. What do you mean 180 + 10. My 180 day mark is April 14 based on DIS's calculator. Do you mean that I could have started making them yesterday (the 4th ) instead?
I have my calendar marked to call 7 AM on the 14.

ETA: I think I understand what you are saying.................I can call on April 14 for my 180 day mark for day one of our trip. BUT since I am staying at a WDW resort I can book ALL of my dining reservations -as long as my trip is not over 10 days-on that one April 14 phone call. That is what I have always done. I, for some reason, was thinking you meant that WDW resort guests could really book 190 days out.
