I like the looks of the menu and the pictures of the chicken and ribs looked great. But, what does it TASTE like. Is the inside of the restaurant neat looking? I seen the one pic on the menu but that's it.

I'm wondering if that should be one of my ADRs or if I should maybe go out of the park that day?

As a vegetarian, I cannot comment on the chicken or ribs, but the tofu-based dish they made for us was very disappointing. Beyond that, we found the place a little less well-kept (read: less clean) than other TS.

Yak & Yeti is fabulous!!! The food is excellent - we had the crispy mahi mahi and the chicken lo mein, along with various appetizers and desserts. The wonton dessert is amazing!!! Also, the "adult" beverages were the best we had in any of the parks. I think the Yak Attack is probably the tastiest drink I've ever had anywhere. The theming is fantastic too. It's easily in my top 5 restaurants in WDW!!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We ate there last week and I was nervous because I've met so many vocal opponents on the dis, BUT, we were SO HAPPY AND SURPRISED. It was easily the best lunch we had all week.

DBF had the ribs you mentioned and he was so pleased. It was delicious and the hoisin bbq sauce is extremely savory and yummy. The platter was so big he couldn't finish them all.

I had the steak and shrimp and I was just wowed. It was skirt steak but the marinade made it delicious and tender and my plate was just beautiful, not to mention incredibly tasty.

We also had the tuna app and the lettuce wraps. The tuna app was generous and much more delicious than a similar dish I'd had at an actual sushi restaurant earlier in the week. We order lettuce wraps everywhere we see them, and DBF proclaimed these to be the second-best he's ever had (nothing beats the original, PF Chang's).

Dessert: the mango pie is very light and refreshing, while the pineapple wontons are super awesome. I had to force them down even though I was so full from the rest of the excellent meal. XD

We also had really wonderful service, I think the waiter must have refilled my iced tea probably a dozen times. The interior of the restaurant is very pretty as well and themed quite elaborately. So I say YES, it's definitely worth a visit! We were thrilled, we almost bought a Y&Y t-shirt!

P.S. If you're a drinker, try the apple sake. OHMYGOD it was good.

When you asked about Chicken and Ribs, I thought maybe you were actually talking about Flametree BBQ.

We love Yak & Yeti. DH and I always split the beef & broccoli with jasmine rice and the sweet & sour chicken with brown rice. This is also the only restaurant we make a point to get dessert at...cheese filled wontons with vanilla sauce....they are so different! :goodvibes

We eat lunch there (at the bar) every trip. We usualy split 3 appetizers and wash it all down with a Tiger beer (or a Safari Amber) and a glass or two of wine.

This is my favorite restaurant in all of Disney. I always get the steak & shrimp with the wonton/pineapple dessert. DH has gotten the ribs and the duck. We've always been wowed. It's a wonderful place to eat, IMO! I wouldn't miss it!

But beware of the paper straws! Ooh yuck - the texture of paper straws are just beyond gross. Skip those!!

We tried it for the first time in May and all I can say was....we didn't want to leave!

Try the green beans. Trust me, you will get a second plate of them.

We had a variety of things from the Kobe beef to plates of appetisers.

DH had the Yak Attack and gave it a thumbs up too!

After talking to the server we discovered it is not a Disney restaurant.....they don't have to follow the new disney rules....you know....cheeper cuts of beef (can you imagine Kobe beef if your supply came from the Disney food warehouse - ICKO) and cooking offsite and delivering food to the kitchens each day (checkout Boatrights and CRT menus!). The prepare everything there and are very proud of their restaurant. GREAT servers! We stayed so long we had two sets.....tipped both because they deserved it.

Ok, I'll stop rambling.

I say...what the heck, try it once and see if you like it. It's only one meal and you may find a new favorite!

We definitely would recommend you go! I had the steak and shrimp and my hubby had the ribs and everything was REALLY good!!! You won't regret staying in the park to eat.;)

I guess I will be different and say NO. My DH and I tried it on a trip we went on without the kids in March and it wasn't what I expected. I did like the fact that we didn't have ADRs and were able to get in without a long wait, but I thought that atmosphere wasn't anything to get excited over and the food was just ok...not what I expected since it wasn't a cheap meal.

It's a must do for us every trip. We've had the pot stickers, fried green beans, egg rolls, lettuce cups, duck, ribs, pho, steak & shrimp, pineapple wontons, sorbet, and mango pie. We've never been disappointed.

I think the meal I had at Y&Y was the best meal I've ever had in WDW! The steak and shrimp with the jasmine rice was fabulous! And the cheese wontons were out of this world!

The interior is well done in terms of decor. Very nice environment. We thought the food was pretty good---the tamarind chicken was a little bit sweet, but still pretty good. The bok choi stir fry with it was great. The sweet and sour chicken did not have the usual atomic red-orange sauce that your corner chinese place probably uses, and was a little more subtle. I usually have low expectations for sweet-and-sour-whatever, but this was actually pretty decent. We did not experience any of the cleanliness issues bicker mentions, but we were also there relatively early in their service, about 11:45 or so.

The shock top wheat is pretty good, and was served very cold---perfect on a hot summer day. I don't recall it being any more or less expensive than most of the other lunches we had last week (even though Y&Y only has a 10% AP discount, rather than the 20% TIW.)

Must-do every trip. I discovered this little gem a few years ago.

We sat on the second floor in the corner last year, overlooking the entrance to Dinoland - I think, if I remember correctly.

Great service - loved the fried wontons for dessert; the egg rolls with the plum sauce were to die for - and the sake was fabulous.

Don't miss it!

It's not a must-do. It's decent food -- not special food, but decent food for a high price. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there, but I wouldn't hesitate to skip it, too.

We like to go there. If you go take everyone's advice and get the wonton dessert. It is so good!

I wasn't impressed with the Yak and Yeti at all. I had the Honey Chicken and my 13 yr old son had the Sweet and Sour Pork. We ordered seared Pot Stickers for an appetizer. The pot stickers were the same ones I buy at Sam's Club!
The meals were ok, but I felt they were served too quickly...as if the plates were already made up...sitting under a heat lamp. Now, that was only my impression...not necessarily true. The food wasn't piping hot, just nearly warm. Plus the rice is scooped out with an ice cream scooper, and for what it's worth...reminded me of cafeteria lunches in elementary school.

The decorations and atmosphere are wonderful.

Now...I will say that the Pineapple Fried Won-tons were decadent, absolutely outstanding!
If we go back there...I'll sit at the bar and just order the wonton dessert. Yum!!
