Yak and Yeti take out...

My wife and I loved the Ahi tuna Nachos. We were wondering if we could just get this to go for lunch and eat it over at the Yak and Yeti QS. I would rather not take up a table just to have an App. Has anyone done something like this?

You would still have to make the ADR, and be seated. You could then order it and have them pack it up to go, but you can't just walk in and ask for the item to go. I know it doesn't make sense, but it's the way it is done.

I called they said just walk in and go up to the bar and order them to go. No need for an ADR.

When you get back, please come back here and let us know if this really does work. Makes me wonder if the same would be true for Brown Derby bar over at HS.

Wouldn't take out be an amazing concept at Disney?! We love to eat at the resort, on the balcony or by the pool. It would also free up a lot of ADRs and make it more pleasurable not having to deal with dinner meltdowns!

I think it would just place an increased strain on kitchens that are already operating full out during prime meal hours. Which is probably one of the reasons why most WDW TS restaurants don't do take out.

Yak and Yeti is likely more willing to be flexible. They are not Disney owned, they are Landry. They do many things different. Like take walk ups, take their club card members over ADR people, etc.
So yeah, wouldn't surprise me at all that you can go to the bar and order something to go.
DH and I eat there most every trip and we always opt to sit at the bar. No ADR needed, just an open seat at the bar. Not hard to find so we'll just check in as we pass by and grab seats when we see them.
No idea if any other restaurant works that way, even if they have seats at the bar.

All resorts offer some form of room service or pizza delivery if you want to eat on your balcony.

Agree. Those who have never worked in the restaurant industry do not know the extra burden take-out orders put on the kitchen. Plus, it would require an extra person/persons handling all the to-go orders. It just bogs things down altogether.

IMO, it would be a complete disaster. Most of the kitchens are already probably operating at capacity with all seats full in the dining room. There's no way they could possibly handle several hundred extra to-to orders per day.
