We've eaten in Shulas. Loved the steaks and the crab mac and cheese is to die for. That being said, we wanted to try something new this visit. I have ADRs for the Yachtsman, but now I'm getting nervous tht it won't be as good as Shulas. Can anybody who has gone to both give me their perspective as far as entree, apps, dessert, serving size, service, atmosphere and price? IMO if I had to pick one negative about Shulas, it would be the atmosphere.

We have eaten at Shula's a few years ago and we really enjoyed it. You are right about the atmosphere. I found it a little to dark for me. We stay at the Beach Club and always eat at the Yaghtsman. Service is great, portions are very good and a good choice for app's and desert. It is a signature restaurant so the prices are not cheep. If you like Shula's I'm sure you won't be dissappointed at the Yaghtsman. The Flying Fish restaurant at the Boardwalk also has a great steak. This is also a signature restaurant so the prices are up there. But both are worth it.

We eat at both and for food quality Shulas is definetly better. We do enjoy both and usually eat at one or the other each trip.

We love YS, but we booked Shula's for our next trip. I'm not the red meat eater than DW is so I prefer YS. Both are great experiences, and if you don't mind the cost I'd say Shula's the better beef place. :earsboy:

IMHO:
Can't go wrong with either one. The Yachtsman is a slightly lighter and definitely more open atmosphere than Shulas, and child friendlier. Steak wise, we feel the quality of beef at Shulas is slightly better, and the portions seem larger. Appetizers we give the nod to Yachtsman, but dessert nods go to Shulas (chocolate soufle). Service can be excellent at both, but we have found it to be more consistent at Yachtsman. Price, well neither is inexpensive, but with Yachtsman taking the TIW (formerly DDE) discount card, and having at least some of the sides that come with your entree, we find the TIW discounted price at Yachtsman to be the better value. We eat at one or the other each trip, but as of late, the TIW discount steers us to The Yachtsman.
