What would you all do? I initially thought Yachtsman but the FF menu looks amazing!! What have been your experiences? We will be going with our sons, ages 3 & 5.

We have never been to Yachtsman....I have always heard it was either really great, or really awful, mostly good though, so don't worry.

FF however, is ALWAYS AMAZING!!! We go every trip, and they have a kids menu, as well as being able to watch the cooks at work. :thumbsup2 I say go for it!! popcorn::

I ate at both in May just gone, FF wins hands down - wonderful! I ate there more than once it was sooooo good, the steak was far superior to Yachtsman, cooked perfectly, wonderful flavour, good cut of meat, also at the signature potato wrapped snapper and OMG, that was heavenly!

Yachtsman was OK, but not as good as previous visits, the cut of meat I had was not so great, not much flavour and quite a bit of grissle, not bad but just not as good as I remember and nowhere near as good as FF.

This is just my opinion/experience of a recent visit though, I'd always had fabulous experiences of Yachtsman before, but now I've 'found' FF there's no turning back lol

Thank you so much! I love your review of FF, glad the mess up in the beginning was fixed quickly. That peach dessert is going to be on my mind all day now!

My wife and I ate at both during our anniversary trip this year... I have to say that the Yachtsman reminds me of the stuffy steakhouses we have here in Chicago... very snooty with that country club slash jazz club atmosphere... FF, on the other hand, was a sight to behold... ultra modern, whimisical and loud! They both serve their purposes but they are two very different experiences.... if you are looking for a family dinner that's relaxed yet still highbrow then go with FF... if you want to dress the kids up and make it a special night then YS is the place to be.

I used to love the Yachtman's, but they really need to update the menu, it is a 1990's menu vs the more modern Flying Fish. The steaks are still good at the Yachtman's, the preparation could use a modern touch and the sides, appetizers, etc. really need updating.

Flying Fish, in my opinion, has many more interesting options, great decor and ambiance, a nicer location (it's wonderful to stroll around the BW before and/or after your meal) and, aside from a few service glitches, generally pretty attentive service. The crab cake is fantastic!

There is nothing wrong with the Yachtsman Steakhouse, in my opinion, but I can find a good steakhouse more easily than a restaurant like Flying Fish, so that cinches the decision for my family.

Wow, it's pretty unanimous, hey? So glad that it is kind of "cut and dry." Most of my other decisions are split down the middle and I have no idea what to do, lol!!

HeidiLowe, this was the exact question that I was wondering. My family's been debating dining at either Flying Fish or Yachtsman for Christmas Eve Dinner. I think that we liked the entrees more at Yachtsman, but we like the other menu options (particularly dessert) and ambience at FF more. I think we're going to go with FF. Thanks for posting this question!

Flying Fish is our favorite of Disney's signatures. Yachtsmen ranks about 6th on the list. We don't have children but I would think they'd be bored to tears at Yachtsman.

Love, love Flying Fish. Yachtsman's OK, but ranks way down on our list of favorite Signature restaurants. At Flying Fish we love the tomato/mozzarella salad and mussels for appetizers and the scallops or steak for entrees. Dessert varies, depending on what mood we're in, but the chocolate trio or peach trio are very good.
