I am told it is nice there, but it doesn't seem to be discussed a lot here.

opinions please.

I've enjoyed every meal I've had there with my family and short of Shulas's and their prices, it's a very good steakhouse and their sides are wonderful! :thumbsup2

We've eaten here maybe a half dozen times. I think it's a nice enough place to eat, not one of my favorites but not at the bottom of the list either.

I think it doesn't get a lot of mention because 1) it's a steak house, something everybody has at home, 2) it's at the Yacht Club, not a hotel on the monorail loop or one with a fancy lobby to visit and 3) it's 2TS on the Dining Plan and everyone thinks LeCellier for 1TS is to die for.

DH and I love Yachtsmen! The food is excellent, as is the service. I also prefer the atmosphere (over LeCellier). Maybe the tables are farther apart? It just feels more relaxed at Yachtsmen, quieter, not as rushed? (Maybe because at LeCellier there are always tons of people waiting?:confused3)

We really enjoy it.......but it helps to have a car because as PP mentioned, it is not on the monorail......You can get there via WDW transportation, walk from Epcot or whatever.....

I have a reservation for a late dinner at Yachtsman the first night I arrive in a couple of weeks and I'm really looking forward to it! :thumbsup2

We dined there for the first time this past May and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Cowboy Steak, which is a Ribeye, and my DH and DS both ordered the Filet. I absolutely loved my Ribeye, it was soooo delicious! Both my DH and DS did enjoy their Filets a lot, but they said they were not the best they ever had. I ordered the seafood salad for my appetizer, and that was also wonderful. The service was good, but it was sort of slow, but we did not mind, because luckily we were not in a hurry. I would definitely return.

I'm glad to hear all the great reviews....we are dining here for the first time in December. My DH was insisting that we dine here because ever since he saw the menu for it, he has been drooling....plus since we are staying at BC, it will be very easy for us to get to.

Another vote of excellence. My DH and I have eaten here several times and the steak was excellent and service outstanding. It is a very relaxing dining experience. We love to eat, enjoy and then stroll around to the BW for the entertainment. It's a great "date night".

Glad to hear the positive reviews! DH and I always do a date night while the kids stay at the Neverland Club...I picked this place for our date night this time. We are both steak lovers...can't wait!

:goodvibes Everything I've read about it is consistent; the service and food are very good and it's a little quieter than other places - so we picked it for busy night, just to take a break. ;)

The thing to keep in mind is that you just don't hear as much about the 2 TS spots. They are just too expensive for the regular guest to go to. Most people head to the 1 TS credit restaurants, so you hear about them all the time.
And I have usually fallen into the 1 TS credit group. But, in Dec I'm headed down with a group of friends from around the country/world. I am going by myself, no dh or dd. So I can do things I wouldn't normally do or be able to afford. We have planned meals at Jiko, Yachtsman, Flying Fish...all 2 TS spots. This is a first for most of us...we don't usually do that, but what the heck, it's good to treat yourself once in awhile.

I am definietley in the minority here on the DIS, but we did not like the Yachtsmen. We have tried 3 times and we will not return again.
It is a beautiful restaurant, and the service is excellent. We just did not care for the food. Everything was over spiced, over sauced for us.
Different Strokes for different folks.
Enjoy

Sometimes people forget, Yachtmen like most Disney restaurants will customize your meal if you don't like spice, salt, sauce etc. My son loves steak, plainly grilled, so that's how I order his at the Yacthmen and every other restaurant for that matter, and if he wants sauce we get it on the side!

We have dined here three years in a row and have had awesome service and great food. The appetizers and are always a delight-very creative. The filet is very good, the rib eye is great and I have had the NY strip, but it is not my most favorite cut of meat. Good, but not fabulous.

Sure you can get a better steak at Ruth's Chris or Capital Grill, but when we are at WDW, the Yachtsman is a great substitute. Although, I think they could offer a few more appealing side dishes like cottage fries, french fries, loaded baked pototoes etc.

I'm a fan of YS. Nice atmosphere, very good food. Service is usally pretty darned good too.:earsboy:

In the late 90's, early 00's we went a few times and loved it...went back April 08 and I enjoyed it but DH didnt like the rib eye or the filet.
