Anyone have any photos or reviews of this place? I had an ADR for Whispering Canyon in Sept., but I changed it to Yachtsmanon Saturday. I've read some mixed reviews on allears so if anyone has anything to contribute, please do.

Thanks!

We did Yachtman's at the end of May and liked it. I preferred Narcoosee's, but would do YS again. The porterhouse I had was excellent even if I couldn't finish it all.

Don't forget if you are on the Dining Plan, it counts as 2 ts credits.

Yeah, I knew that thanks. We're on the deluxe plan, so credits aren't an issue for us, and we'll actually pay OOP for our 2 children instead of wasting 4 credits for $12 worth of pasta/nuggets/whatever.

We love the Yachtsman, we went in April and had a fantastic dinner. Tons of pics and full review are in my signature

I happen to like Yachtsman very much. We had dinner there back in March and it was lovely - great food and service.

As to the mixed reviews, every single restaurant you can name gets mixed reviews. Some people love places that other people can't stand. If you have never been to a particular restaurant, go and decide for yourself whether it is a place for you.

I have pics and a review in my Ding report. The link is in my sig.

Thanks everyone. I know it's try it and if you like it. I just wondered how "good" of a steakhouse it was. One review said, OMG the ribeye was too fatty....well that's the cut of the meat you EE-DEEE-OT!

We've always enjoyed Yachtsman Steakhouse when we've gone. We had the same server on two different trips and he actually remembered us! :thumbsup2

The Chateaubriand (for 2) was really good! This was my half of the serving:

This is one of our favorites. We always dine there for xmas. It is a fine dining is excellent service. The steaks are always superb. This is much better then WC and much quieter.

Thanks again. We weren't going for "quiet", I wanted the WCC b/c my 3 year old is, well, let's just say a handful? We're doing LeCellier and I didn't really want to add another steakhouse, but thought we might like it (we are steak lovers), no yucky steak sauce and I like mine rare. Pixie, I would've devoured your hubby's without a second thought. My steaks are lay it down, flip, and put it on my plate.

Ok....I am soooo ordering this when we dine at YS! I love ChateauBriand [we served it at our wedding reception], and this version looks scrumptious! Thanks for the food porn!:cool1:

Can you get this on the basic dining plan? It looks sooooooooooo good!

What type of meat is Chateubriand most like? It really resemble a prime rib.

Oh, yes, you can use on the regular dining plan, it's a signature restaurant, so you'll be charged 2 ts credits.

This picture was taken B.D.P. (Before Dining Plan) :rotfl2: - so I'm not sure. Does anyone know? With Yachtsman being a Signature Restaurant, I'm supposing it should be (just remember it is for two people). :confused3

Chateaubriand is made from beef tenderloin, the same cut of meat that makes filet mignon. It is the most tender, and least fatty, cut of beef.

Yes, I think you could have cut this with a SPOON! Soooo tender - sooo good!! :thumbsup2

Might try that instead of the ribeye. Did you both have to order it, since it's for "2"?

We loved out meal there a few weeks ago. I had the Porterhouse (med rare) and the wife had the strip (med). We also had the wine pairings that theys suggested. Both steaks were wonderfull and the potatoes au gratin that came w/ the wifes meal were great, better than the potato fingerlings that came w/ mine. We also got the mushrooms as a side dish and it is enough for two, which is what our waiter said. The resturant was a little louder than I had thought it would be, but it was about 6:30, so a later one might be a little more quite. Overall, I would reccomend this to anyone. I also heard from a person who stay at our hotel that the sea bass was a good dish.

We are visiting Yachtsman for the second time. This was a favorite of one in our party. The rest of us prefered Le Cellier for steak; at Yachtsman, two in our party were given dry steak. That was probably an off-time, though. We still loved everything. The mushrooms were great, and so was the dessert. I'm pretty sure we didn't get any appetizers last time.
I only have dessert photos from here.
