I'm trying to figure out our PS for Dec trip. On our Epcot evening I was thinking of dinner at either the Yachstman or Flying Fish. Anyone have experiences with them? We are fairly adventurous eaters and just wondered which might be better? It will be for self, DH, and DDs (19 & 17). Also it looks like we can walk from Epcot to either restaurant...is this true? (we've never been...I'm planning my entire trip with books and these boards!). If we have dinner about 6:30 or so, do you think we could make it back in time to see Illuminations? Thanks!

I have never tried the Steakhouse, but have heard good reviews. We always eat at the Flying Fish the food is excellent the menu changes to reflect the freshest food. The last time we were there was for my Bday, the desert plate was decorated with Happy Birthday in chocolate writing. Looking forward to the Flying Fish on our next trip. Not sure if we'll try the Steakhouse yet. Have fun

I didn't finish answering the questions you can easily walk to view Illuminations from both restaurants. I think you would make it to see Illuminations is it at 9pm? I think the 17 and 19 year olds would like Flying Fish better.

I haven't tried The Flying Fish but the Yachtsman's Steakhouse is excellent! The food is great and the service is even better. They have a dessert sampler for two that gives you a little bit of all their signature desserts. It's yummy! I like the atmosphere there too. It's nice but not stuffy and all done in hardwoods, etc. Really good steaks too!

Have been to both FF and YS numerous times. Both have good food and service, so one question is whether you want steak or fish. Also, FF is decorated more whimsically, with an open kitchen and a louder atmosphere. YS is more subdued and elegant. You can't go wrong with either one.

We have been to both, but hands down we enjoy YS more than FF.

If you arrive early for your PS, you should get seated in time, and still make it to illuninations. --- we did with no problem from YS

Never been to YS, but we went to FF last May with my DH whole family and nobody really liked it. It was just ok in our opinion, and we would not go back. We do love Fulton's in DD though. Awesome crablegs!

Another vote for YS, consistantly great food, superior service, and good atmosphere. This spot has become our last night tradition and if you eat about 6:30pm you should have plenty of time to make Illuminations, for us the perfect end to a perfect week.

We love the YS how is the flying fish is this at the Boardwalk and how is it?

We've had two PERFECT dinners at Flying Fish and are heading back on our next trip. The prices at YS scared us away. Bear in mind, FF is pricey but YS is ultra-pricey.

We went to both last trip, and .....they were the two best meals we had, and the same price as i remember. FF does have a great steak too. YS was quieter. If that doesn't help flip a coin :rotfl:

We ate at both last month - it would be hard to choose between the two! If you want to read my reviews, they are here:

Have not been to FF but YS is absolutely delicious! Steaks were awesome and if you do go make sure to asks about the soups...we were able to order a cup of soup that day don't remember the exact name of it but it was a chowder with crab and corn and I don't know what else but it was to die for!!! the best soup I have ever had!!

This is consistent with our experience as well. I like both beef and fish, so either works for me. DW prefers red meat to fish, but the strip steak at Flying Fish is an "adequate" substitute for the filet when I'm in the mood for fish. Our adult DS enjoys sitting at the open kitchen bar at FF and watching them prepare his steak when he's on a solo trip. YS doesn't have a similar opportunity for him. Overall, I'd be happy with either.

Although the price tag at YS is a little more than FF, we felt the amount of food, and the choices available were a little better than FF. We did enjoy the pasta dishes at FF, but the MEAT at YS......MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM :cloud9:

Flying Fish blows Yachtsman out of the water. Definately go to flying fish!

The food is better, the service is better!

It depends on what you like - Flying Fish for seafood, YSH for beef. We have never been disappointed at FF except with the Chocolate Lava Cake. The banana Napoleon is outstanding!

We try to book FF after Illuminations when we are staying at BW.
