Hi just looking at the menu on disneys website and it now shows a couple of wagyu steak options at $125 and $145. Has anyone had these before, and guessing they aren't able to be had on the dining plan?
Thanks.

Probably won't know until someone goes and tries them. They're too small to be "for two," but there's no notation that there's an up charge either.

I cannot speak to these two options, but I have ordered the way yu steak at Yachtsman and it was honored n the DDP, no upcharges.

there is a note in the 2017 DDP rules (at least in the UK) stating that they have the right to have a surcharge on any regular entree over $40 and sig entree over $75. it should be $80 but whatever.

This one may depend on when you go. As LisaF mentioned in her post the language in the 2017 Deluxe Dining Plan info differs from the 2016 plan from the Disney US site.

From the 2016 links -
"Choosing items from a separate prix fixe menu offered at certain locations requires payment of a surcharge in addition to redeeming the number of Table-Service entitlements required at the location."

From the 2017 links -
Prix fixe menus and certain select menu items require payment of an additional amount in addition to redeeming the number of Table-Service entitlements required at the location.

So it definitely sounds like in 2017 this may be more restrictive --- which in all honesty would make the dining plan much less worth it for my family.

I have been looking at the prices at some of the newer restaurants, and honestly, I did not see how they woudl even use a DDP. STK is one that is very pricy. I would not mind if a $110 meal required a surcharge. How many credits would it take to justify some of those meals?

If i was super interested in something I'd pay the surcharge. I know it is disney "cheaping out" and making more money off of me but if I REALLY wanted surf adn turf at narcoossees I am not going to sweat the $27 lobster tail enhancement on my several thousand dollar vacation or deprive myself rather than paying it. I am still coming out ahead on the DDP (due to my kiddo). I would not be surprised if the wagyu had a surcharge associated with it too - I mean, even at V&A it has a surcharge. But I might have been interested in trying it if it didn't... but if it does, not so much. And not whining about the DDP and disney cheaping out, just not worth it to me.

I think for STK, they have the more expensive steaks labelled as for 2. I don't think I have seen entrees for more than $75 at signatures (except for the ones for 2nkr market price). I think Narcoosees for the lobster @ $72 and Morimoto for the duck @ $72 as well are the most expensive I've seen listed prices on DDP...

before they split the lobster tail off at narcoossees i think it was either $75 or $76. do you think they'd surcharge a dollar? lol

Lol maybe but I don't see them bringing that back without a huge price increase :duck:
