Yachtsman or Le Cellier for our Anniversary dinner? Which would you choose and why?

Yachtsman - much nicer atmosphere - more relaxed. Le Cellier is good but louder and a bit more rushed. I personally feel Yachtsman has a much better quality of meat.

Yachtsman--it's a little more elegant and I think the food is better(highly subjective opinion of course):earsboy:

Another vote for YSH. Both are good, but YSH is much nicer in terms of atmosphere, service and food.

While I always say go signature from these two choices I say LC has a better meal but a louder enviroment and would choose that over Yachtsman

Just ate at both over Christmas. Yachtsman has changed the way they cook their meat, it is now oak fire and boy can you taste the oak and the fire. The meat was not burned but had a burn taste to it. LeCellier was excellent as alsways and has not changed how they cook their meat. With that said I would choose LeCellier but its personal taste.

Yachtman - better steak, better service, more adult atmosphere. I had a horrid exp at LeCellier and a decent exp at LeCellier (recently) and I still wouldn't go there for an anniv meal. It's in a theme park, it's very crowded and loud, pretty rushed, and not at all romantic IMO.

Have you considered Shula's? It is a better steakhouse than either. Between your choices I'd go with Yachtsman for an anniversary dinner.

Yachtsman, it's not even a fair comparison. Kind of like deciding between Pop Century and The Beach Club.

But as some one else mentioned, Shula's (Grand Floridian to carry the resort analogy) is a better choice.

Best Wishes for a great anniversary!

We would choose Yachtsman for an anniversary celebration for all the earlier reasons mentioned. That said, if you're on the meal plan, LC is one meal credit on the dining plan and YSH is two.

Happy Anniversary!:)

Happy Anniversary. With all the kids that show up at Le Cellier, I would avoid that as an Anniversary dinner.

Never been to Yachtsman, so I can't say anything there. If I were you, I'd try to find somewhere upscale, like Victoria & Alberts or California Grille. I think Yachtsman might fit that...

We enjoy both places, but I would choose Yachtsman over Le Cellier, especially for an Anniversary dinner. It has a nicer atmosphere and more of a higher quality of food.

I wouldn't disagree about the choice but methinks you exaggerate a bit. The difference between Pop and the Beach Club is a bit more significant.

Definitely Yachtsman...we celebrated an anniversary there and it was wonderful. Customized menus with names on the top if they know its your anniversary and nice atmosphere. Steak was delicious (filets)

I went to the Yachtsman with my dad last year and neither of us thought it had an 'atmosphere' that justified the higher price of steaks there vs Le Cellier. I also thought the Yachtsman was pretty noisy too.

This year we are eating at Shula's for our "steak" night. :)

where is Shula's?

It's in the Dolphin Hotel (near Epcot). It's not on the Dining Plan, if that is an issue. But if you're paying out of pocket, you'll get more for your money at Shula's...even though it is more expensive. In other words...big bucks, but big return. And it will be a much more "adult" anniversary meal because not many kids eat there.

If not on the dining plan, I'd definitely do Shula's. I've read recently that it's hurting for business in this economy, and they're offering some pretty sweet deals as a result.

Yachtsman has a nicer atmosphere than LeCellier IMO. I've eaten at both and didn't have great experiences at either one. Yachtsman didn't WOW me for what it cost, and our server was kind of snotty. While we loved the food at LeCellier, the service was poor because we had a "disappearing" waitress.

We ate at The Yachtsman in April. We enjoyed it very much. See my trip report(the link is in my signature) for review and pics. We recently ate at Shula's, and it too was very good(as it should be, it is expensive). I will write up a short review with pics in a few days. We were booked for Le Cellier, but I was ill that evening, so had to cancel. So, my vote is for Shula's for atmosphere and food, though The yachtsman is not far behind.
