Torn between the two for a date night dinner!

Staying at the Beach Club!

I thought Flying Fish was being refurbished right now so check the refurbishment schedule. It depends on what you're looking for. I've had excellent meals at both places. I think the 1 thing that tips the table for me is some of the seating at Yachtsmen just stinks. If you get the wrong table you end up sitting near a very busy intersection where servers and bus-persons are constantly walking by. I like Flying Fish better for that reason. Also, Flying Fish seems much smaller so you may get a little more attention from the host/sommelier/manager. That being said we're booked for both on our next visit.

Flying Fish is now reopened and it has gotten many great reviews. Pete of the DIS said it is the single best steak he has ever had. I have not yet been.
I really enjoyed our dinner at Yachtsmen Steakhouse. I don't think you can go wrong with either

We have been to both and I would pick Flying Fish. We went to Flying Fish in August after the refurb and it was outstanding. I am not sure if you are using the DDP or not but if not, then you might want to take a look at Shulas too. It is at the Swan or Dolphin and in my opinion their steaks are just a little bit better than Flying Fish but the sides, dessert, etc are better at Flying Fish. Sorry if I complicated your decision.

It is great to have lots of great choices near the Boardwalk area because that is the area we always stay at as well.

We went to both on our trip in August. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Yachtsman Steakhouse has a more traditional steakhouse atmosphere, whereas Flying Fish has more creative design and feels a bit dimmer, which I like in a restaurant. That's honestly the biggest difference I can find. I thought they both had interesting and creative food on their menu, and we enjoyed both. (I enjoyed Yachtsman a bit more, but that's because Flying Fish was our family "nice meal" for the trip and the toddler was tired, whereas Yachtsman was a date night.) I might give a slight edge in creative menu to Flying Fish, but very slight. I had seafood at Flying Fish and a steak at Yachtsman, because that seemed right. I'd like to do a date night at Flying Fish in the future.

Don't think that helps much---you won't go wrong. Skip dessert, walk around a bit then go to Ample Hills regardless of which you pick.
