Yachtman's

We're trying Yachtsman next week and are really looking forward to it. It'll be our only signature this trip and we love trying new places.

Can someone post food pics? What sides did you like?

I know this is discussed on other threads, but for those of you who were there recently, how were the men dressed? I don't own khaki shorts, but have nice plaid ones and a polo, but is that too casual? The dress code online says men can wear shorts...but I'm not sure. It'll be a Tuesday night in case that matters.

My DH wore navy blue shorts & a polo shirt so you should be fine. We shared the onion side dish and it was fantastic. DH had mashed potatoes which he loved and I hadd the potato gratin which was excellent. One of the best meals out we have ever had on vacation :worship:

It's good but I don't think its worth 2 dinner credits for those of you on the dining plan.

Mmmmm! We're going here in January and those pictures have made me hungry ;) I can't wait. I have heard consistently good reviews of this restaurant and me and DH both love steak :lovestruc

You will be fine in those clothes. We were just there earlier this month & ate at several signature places ( Yachtsman's, Artist Point, Cali Grill, Brown Derby). Don't think we saw anyone really "dressed up". A few women in sundresses & men in long docker/ kakhi pants. But most diners were in shorts; some nicer & some right from the parks, t shirts & all. Wear what will make you comfortable. Have a great trip!!

And to the OP, our meal was on Sept 10th. It was great! Yes, the place is a little noisy, but you are at Disney. It's not a big city bistro. It is a theme park steakhouse. What makes it a signature? Cloth table linens, an extensive wine/ cocktail list, more extensive & expensive offerings, attentive but relaxed service.

It was our anniversary & we were given special menus, which were offered to us as souveniers. You already heard about the rolls with the garlic & butter, very yummy! I had the lobster bisque which was delicious; DH really liked the heirloom tomato/ cheese appetizer he had. DH had the fillet & said it was really good. I had the NY strip which was excellent. The flavor was out of this world & the meat was very tender, which isn't always the case for a srtip steak. We were too full for dessert, but the waiter brought a plate of small chocolate covered carmels as an anniversary treat.

Hope you have a great vacation!

I think it's really good. Everything I've had there has been good, great filet, and I love the onion rolls with roasted garlic. Also really good seafood options too, in case you have anyone in your party who doesn't particullary care for steak.

Those drinks look awesome.

Restaurant has a nice atmosphere...didn't think the NY Strip I had was any better than something I can get at home...but we don't eat a lot of red meat at WDW since we're looking for something more interesting and unique than a steak on vacation so I guess I'm biased.

Some pics from our dinner, it was really delicious, but they lost our order! The kitchen printer ran out of paper or there was a malfunction as our order went through so we waited almost an hour for our mains :scared1: But once they got there they were delicious.

This gal ate their in December of last year and it was DIVINE. I had the porterhouse (OH MY!) and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! DH had the filet. We were not disappointed and our server was very good. Would recommend! Do it! :yay:
