I was just reviewing the menu for Yachtman's in anticipation of our Christmas trip. DH and I love their chateaubriand, which we had when we were there in June.

Looking at the current menu on allears I see that chateaubriand isn't on the menu:scared1: Anyone know if we will still be able to order it for Christmas dinner?

What???? They took that away as well as the ribeye? THere is someone who posts here who's fiance/husband is a chef there. IIRC, she said that even if something is off the menu, if they have it available they will fix it for you. As wonderful as YS is, I can honestly seethem doing that to make aa guest happy. My girls 11 & 13 now shared that in January and it was wonderful!

I am leaving for Disney in 2 day. The one meal I was really really really looking forward to was the chateaubriand.

Hopefully it was a mistake.

I hope so too!!

Would you mind letting us know upon your return?

Enjoy your trip:wizard:

I'm sorry to report that the Chateuabriand is in fact OFF of the menu. We were there on November 14th and I was all set to order that and saw it was not listed. I even asked the server about it and he frowned (apparantly he had been getting this question often) and he said that they removed it from the menu and it was not available. I ended up getting the filet instead. While it was good, it did not wow me. Service was excellent though. We were not on the dining plan, but if we were, I would have been very dissappointed to pay 2 TS per person for this meal.

This make me sad:scared:

I am sure I can find something else on the menu but we really LOVE the chateaubriand. Maybe it is off the menu because of free dining:confused:

I looked at the Nov. updated menu and it was no longer lsited.:sad2: Hope you enjoyed it in October!

It's been on and off the menu over the years. Here's hoping it's on when you're there!

The Chateaubriand was on the menu when we were there the 2nd/3rd week of October. I remember because this is my favorite, although I couldn't convince DH to share...so I was relegated to the filet mignon.

DH balked the first I suggested we order the Chateaubriand about five years ago:lmao: Now it is our favorite special meal when we are in the "World."

I can't help with your question but wanted to say "hi" since we'll also be eating Christmas dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse!

Have a great time!!!

I hope it will be available during the holidays. We will be dining there for NYE and are looking forward to ordering it.

Kewl:goodvibes

We have an early dinner followed by a Wishes cruise on Christmas Day:santa:

I am hoping as well that they will add it back to the menu for the holidays!!:wizard:

After readinng this thread, I called to change my ressie for 11/29. The only restaurant available for dinner was Olivia's, for 9:05pm!

I kept Yachtsman.

Online menus are not always accurate. The menu changes regularly.

It is off the menu - ask your server if the kitchen can make it the day you are there.

This was exactly the item the had us make ressies at Yachtsman in the first place! So few places on property these days have anything really specia and indulgent left! And this is our one nice dinner out on our trip (we leave in less than a week). I am very disappointed! And it is far too late to make other ressies.

Maybe we can get a last minute ressie for Shula's or something else non-Disney which still has some great top-shelf items left on the menu! Disney is losing our business over repeated choices to delete wonderful items like this!

Excellent suggestion; this is what I intend to do if the chateaubriand is not "officially" on the menu when we're there!:thumbsup2

I'm thinking the dining plan has struck again and ruined yet an other fav of ours. We were at CA Grill last week and our fav dessert has been cut...server said it was too labor intensive. I don't do the dining plan and feel that I shouldn't be penalized for Disney losing $$$. I know that logistically the wait staff would be going crazy (like before) explaining what you can or can't have on the DP. Sorry for venting.
