I apoligize in advance if this question has been asked and answered, but i haven't been around the boards for the past 6 months.
So - Does anyone know whether the Beach Club/Yacht Club pool has re-opened? I know that it was closed for a while for refurbishment.
We'll be staying there in July, only for the pool, so it would be a disappointment if it's not open.

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

Beth

I assume you mean Stormalong bay and not one of the quiet pools.
From what I have seen on here it is open... hopefully someone will come along and verify that!

The slide area at SAB was closed for awhile last year, but it has been reopened. Small parts have been closed, but never the whole thing.

Have fun!

thanks!
yes i was talking about stormalong bay (but couldn't remember the name)....
the only part we really ever swim in is the lazy river part that's in the back (you have to get out of the main pool and walk about 15 feet to get to it)...
i hope that part's open when we get there....but they'd have to be psycho to close any part of it down in the dog days of summer...

thanks again...

We were there on Wednesday and Stormalong Bay is open.

Too bad the whole front of the resort is covered in scaffolding and there is constant banging and construction noise!! We cancelled our reservation, and stayed at the POR instead of moving over to the YC.

I'm sorry, but I don't see what the YC has to offer. POR is much more tranquil and beautiful, and to be completely honest, I cannot believe all the hoopla that goes on about Stormalong Bay. It sure didn't live up to my expectations. It's much much smaller in person than it looks in pictures.

I like Deluxe, 4-Star resorts, just as well as anyone else, but I honestly think that for families with small children, moderate resorts are much much better. Where does someone with 3 kids eat lunch at the YC?? The steakhouse?? Give me a break. Save the money and stay at a Moderate.

i agree with you totally.....we ADORE dixie landings....we stayed there for 3 summers (2 week stays each time)...

but my kids are big now (20 and 18) so we need a bigger room (and we've gotten hooked on concierge)...

is the work being done at the YC on the parking lot side? or on the bay side?
hmmm.....
i could change to the polynesian....or the contemporary....we're already staying at the GF for 4 nights, so that would be boring...and the AKL for 2.....oh...maybe the wilderness lodge...i wonder if they have concierge....

:wave2: Hi Disneyholic Family.
The construction was on the lake side of the resort.

you're kidding?!?!?....on the lake side??...
that doesn't sound too good...especially considering how much we'll be paying....
was it just at the YC or also at the BC?...

this throws a monkey wrench into my plans.....

time to do a bit of concierge research...

The construction is only at the YC, not the BC. This did impact the closure of some of the lv concierge rooms. We loved the YC concierge, however I have heard the BC shares the same CM and is just a wonderful. Alot of post from this site also seem to be quite happy with the BWI.
I am also wanting to know whether it will be complete by my Nov. trip, just not sure if we should think about the BC or BWI as well.
