Yacht Club Pool Question

We will be staying at the Yacht Club by renting points someone who is a Vacation Club member. Friends of ours live in Orlando and we would like to have them over for the day. Will they be permitted to swim in Storm Along Bay?

Generally, you are allowed to bring in a few guests when you are staying at the Yacht & Beach Club. You might want to ask at check-in in case they want to give you some ID for your guests.

You need resort ID to get into the SAB pool area. I agree with Pam - ask at check in. If the pool isn't very busy/full, they'll probably say yes.

As I understand it the official policy is that Stormalong Bay is for resort guests only. I have no idea to what extent it is enforced.

(When we stayed at BCV and went to SAB on a cold Sunday afternoon in Dec at 4:00, I begged for wristbands but couldn't find anyone to get them from -- so we swam without them.)

My undestanding of Disney's policy is the same as yours. Since it's their policy, they are the only ones that can legitimately grant an exception to it (thus the advice to ask).

To the best of my knowledge, they do a pretty thorough job of enforcing the policy at SAB. Maybe when it's cold and the pool is practically empty, Disney doesn't feel much of a need to enforce it. Can't imagine that there are very many locals or other on-site guests that want to pool crash when it's cold! But maybe that's JMHO!

You are allowed to bring guests to SAB. AS long as one person in the party has resort ID, they will give wristbands to everyone.

Last time we stayed at the Beach Club and went to Stormalong Bay, everyone in our party had to show a resort id.

Maybe (hopefully) it's that if you don't have a resort ID, or are not accompanied by someone with a resort ID, you don't get in. That would elimiate the pool hoppers or non-Disney guests from just coming to the pool. I would think not that many people are bringing non-resort guests so they don't bother to ask that question when they're checking id's. It sounds to me like no one has ever been told they cannot bring a guest in. But, others have been asked to show ID and get wristbands. So...I'm hoping MY theory is correct!

When we were there it was a crowded and they were asking for ID's for each person in the group unless they were very small children with adult.

Each adult had to have an ID.

I would ask at checkin.

I would just call the Beach Club at 407-934-8000 and ask them now. Why wait until checkin, if you are trying to plan this one way or the other? Then just re-confirm at check-in.

When we went last August, they asked for ID for everyone - including our 5 and 3 year old. Seems it depends on who is checking IDs...
