Yacht Club or Beach Club?

Sooooo, with the new Magical Express luggage pick up for Southwest, I could spend my last night in the Yacht Club or the Beach Club or Pop Century/All-Stars.

Through some complicated reasoning involving a hot tub on the morning of departure ;), it’s come down to the Yacht Club or the Beach Club.

Does anyone have a preference of one over the other? Is there a marked difference between the two?

I will most likely only be staying for one night, transferring from POFQ. The hot tub is important, as is the pool. I would probably be going to Epcot if anywhere as I will have spent the last three days at the Studios for Star Wars Weekends :cloud9:. Most likely I will be taking the 7pm flight home.

This is a very young mad plan, as it was only hatched yesterday. I’m posting this here because I trust your opinions and before I bother Mindy to change my reservation (sorry, Mindy) I thought to look for all the help I could get.

Wishing you the best of dull prosperity ~
I remain,

Well, YC and BC share the same 'fun' pool, Storm-a-long Bay. It is WONDERFUL!

We stayed at YC on our trip and loved it. We were traveling with two children, 11 and 7, and they loved it too. Everyone was very friendly, the hotel was in terrific shape and very clean, and we got so much attention we felt like royalty every time we returned from the parks.

We visited the BC lobby area and decided it was not us...a bit too crowded. After spending all day with crowds in the parks we prefer not to have to fight them at our resort.

Also, we really wanted to have a balcony, which was much more likely at YC.

I've done both, not much difference other than theme. The only reason I prefer the Beach Club is that you can walk to EPCOT a little quicker.

We typically stay at BC due to it being closer to EPCOT and having more to offer with the Marketplace. However, my husband and I have stayed at YC for which we appreciate the decor ( I like the nautical theme) as well as the quiet.

We only stayed there once but at that time there did seem to be less hall noise. In addition, I like their closed in balconies.

Yep..Yep.. My thoughts exactly.

Tough call....I would love to stay at either. Take some pics when you go and share them please? :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Not much difference between the two. We prefer BC for the lighter colors in the decor which gives it a more relaxed feeling. Also, its a shorter walk to Epcot. :teacher:

The YC is generally far quieter and less crowded. It's also first on the bus stop, so you can often get a seat when BC guests may have to stand.

Thanks to everyone for all their thoughts. I really appreciate your time. I've decided on the Yacht Club. Possibly because of the quiet, or the bus.

Possibly, to some extent because when I looked at the map, the boat dock runs right to the door of the Yacht Club. And I expect to have some energy on Monday morning, but on Sunday night it might be good not to have to walk very far. :dance3:

Thank you again,

you've already decided so i guess i shouldn't add my 2 cents...
oh well...i will anyway...

we prefer the yacht club..
yes, same pool, and essentially the same layout, but we prefer the yacht club decor....much much prefer it...as well as the 'feel' of the resort (whatever that means).

in other words, i think you made a good choice :)

I prefer the Beach Club over the Yacht Club. However if you want a guarantee for a full balcony than I suggest you stay at the yacht club.
