We're currently booked in a garden view room. I have no intentions of upgrading any mroe, but I'm wondering if garden view is really worth it?

I was looking on Allears and they had views from several of the standard view rooms, both of which looked decent and afforded views of Illuminations. I know not every standard view room is going to have such a nice view, but it got me wondering if any garden view rooms also have the potential for Illuminations viewing and if the views in general were really anything special.

It's not a huge price difference, but I'm just debating about downgrading to a standard view. Any thoughts?

I'd keep Garden View. As you say, it's not a big price difference, and worth it to me not to have a view of a roof.

Our garden view room overlooked the wedding pavillion, which was nice. It was also pretty private and quiet, and had a water view.

I could see the lake, and the Boardwalk from my balcony, and the Epcot fireworks, so GV room was very worth it for us too.
