We ate there in early March. It was a place that I always wanted to try but never got around to it. I easily got a reservation for 6:40 PM just a few days before our trip.
I liked the place and am seriously considering it for a big family reunion lunch next year. It's not a stuffy environment but it is a nice atmosphere. No dress code. The restaurant was a little over half full (or half empty if you are a pessimist).
I got the half roasted chicken and it was a true "Disney chicken on steroids" thing with a huge breast that even Frank Perdue would be in envy of. My husband got the steak choice with some sort of light sauce on top. Here's the telling point of our dinner. My husband, the ketchup freak, did not need ketchup for his steak. He didn't need any condiment at all! That just doesn't happen. I told my son about it when we got home and he wanted a photo to prove it! I also got an appetizer of the clam chowder and it was perfect for me. Not a ton of vegetables, not overriden by potatoes, and there actually were clams in the cup. Like I said, perfect for me. But it filled me up enough that after the entree, I couldn't eat dessert. And I wanted Boston Creme Pie!
The service was really good. Borderline outstanding. We didn't have alcohol and both drinks were refilled immediately for free. I even had a "speciality" drink of the red, white and blue Sprites (cherry, regular, and blueberry).
The best was when we were walking out. HUGE basket of hard candies to be enjoyed. I don't know what it was about those hard candies but it became a battle with my husband and me. It was like we were kids again. He wanted to eat his all that night. I wanted to keep mine and savor them. He pouted when his were gone and I wouldn't share (OK, I ended up sharing them).
Good experience for us.
