Going to Yacht Club Galley for dinner in January. We are staying at beach club, paying OOP, and thought it would be convenient. Plus we wanted to try something new. Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated. I have never heard much about the this restaurant.

It's one of the best kept secrets of the Epcot resorts! We ate dinner there in the summer of '06 when we stayed at BCR and my DS and I loved it. Compared to the Cape May Clam Bake, which can be rather noisy (we also tried it), it was heaven. The atmosphere was rather quiet and the service and food was very upscale steak house.

We ate there for the first time last month, on the ddp.

We thought it was very good, and the portions were larger than we expected.

They had a prime rib special that night that was great! :)

It wasn't busy at all. We decided to switch restaurants the night before, and I was able to get my pick of times at YCG on a Friday night during free dining, after being told 3 other places were totally booked. We arrived 20 minutes early & were seated immediately.

I agree with the positive reviews. We went for some of the reasons you are going. Convenient and something we hadn't tried before. Very pleasant dinner. The clam chowder was just the way I like it. My husband actually ate his steak without ketchup! Very pleasant atmosphere, away from the crowds. And they give you hard candies (as many as you want) on your way out. Excellent choice.

It was one of our best meals in August (and most convenient as we were staying at the YC! :rotfl: )....

Our entrees were wonderful and the blueberry cheesecake dessert was heavenly! :thumbsup2

This is a nice place to eat. We visit whenever we are staying at the BW or BC. We like to meet up with our local friends for a nice lunch here, then head over to EPCOT for awhile.

I just ate dinner there about three weeks ago. The food was very good, the service was great. The manager circulated to every table and introduced herself (DS said that she did that when he was there in April, also). Those are the pluses. On the minus side were the lighting and the new color scheme. Well, I thought the new color scheme was a minus because I really liked the bright, airy, pastel colors-the manager really likes the new color scheme. The lighting seemed rather dingy-not romantically dim, but rather like some light bulbs were burnt out. But I do agree about the blueberry cheesecake-excellent!

We ate at YCG on 9/26/07 for the first time. We were extremely pleased with the entire dining experience. Clark was our server and he was absolutely wonderful. DH and I loved every course we ate. For appetizers DH had chowder and I had lager steamed mussels which were to die for!!!!!
DH had a scallop, shrimp and mussel pasta with a tomatoe fennel sauce. I had halibut. My fish:thumbsup2 was my best meal of our trip!

We will definitely be returning. We were in WDW 10 days, and YCG was one of our top three meals. Let's not get to many threads going on this location and keep it a secret!!!:rotfl:
