Yacht Club front desk is probably sick of me!

We finally made a decision and booked YC! :) I've called the front desk 3 times today already asking questions. I hate to bother them but CRO is totally clueless about what's going on over there. I just wanted some concrete answers about the renovations, types of beds available, and work being done at SAB.

Another thing I asked them was about checking in with the AP rate. According to TWO different castmembers working the front desk at YC today they have NEVER asked to see anyone's AP at check-in. What is up with that??? If they don't ask to see your AP then how do they know you have one???

I can easily imagine them not asking to see your AP....What I find odd is that they would TELL you that...lol.

Hey, calling the front desk to ask about their accomodations should not give you any reason to feel like you are bothering them.

We had AP rates at the GF and the BWI. Both were paid off before we checked in. When we checked in neither asked to see my AP. I offered both times and they said they didn't need to see it:confused: I thought that was strange and thought maybe that was because it was paid off already? I don't know but if I was dishonest I could've gotten an AP rate and not had an AP!!

We've probably had AP rates ~10 times and MKC rates (in the old days) ~ 10 times and been asked to show either one just a couple times.
Go figure! I'd never want to gamble and not have the card, however, or at least be prepared to go purchase an AP and be able to produce it to keep the great rate.

I wonder how many people get away with it??? I'm surprised this topic hasn't come up more often. Seems really unfair.

I wouldnt take any chances if any one is thinking about it! I was asked once at the Poly and once at the YC for my AP at check in! so, yes, sometimes they do ask to see it!

the cm who told you that they never ask for it, was probably talking about herself only!

Laura :D

This maybe a stretch; however, is it possible that since they record your finger imprint and the AP is replacable it is crossed referrenced by the resort?

Given the precautions that Disney takes to protect the passes that they just give away discounts without checking. Whenever, we purchased an item where the DC discount is permitted they always checked the card.

Just a thought!

I've heard of people checking in with just an ap voucher, so that wouldn't show up in their system would it?

Has anyone ever gotten an ap rate with a child's ap?

TigrLsPooh: How far are they with the renovations? We are going to stay there the last night of our Thanksgiving trip. Thanks.

ir regard to rooms and renovations etc.? We will be staying there from 12/23-12/27. Should I be reguesting a certain standard room? Thanks!

I have no personal experience with a child's AP, but have read many times on various boards that it can be done.

about renovations and SAB? I'm going in mid-December, and am curious!

TIA!

I was at YC last weekend. I've never been before, so have no idea of any particular missing areas. The large slide was open, so were the kiddie slides. The vortex and "lazy river" were open. The beach area under sand "springs" were working.I don't have a toddler, but it appeared that the baby section was completely open. There were a couple of areas that looked like something was not operational...there were jets underwater with nothing coming out. There were many blocked areas, but you could get around them, perhaps not as conveniently as previously. It cut down on the "attractiveness" of the area, but not the fun.

The snack bar was open until 6PM. The pool closed at 8PM. It was crowded from 3-6; then emptied out until 8. Everyone was being checked for wristbands prior to 6PM; the person who checks IDs and hands out the bands went home at 6PM every night, so there were lots of people without bands after 6. I have no idea as to whether they were staying at BC or YC, and as the area was very empty, I really didn't care.

I'm also curious about the renovations at the YC. We'll be staying there for the first time in 4 weeks :D ! I'm hoping they'll be completed by then.

Thanks in advance!

The front desk told me the YC renovations would be done on November 6th. We check out on Nov. 5th so I'll let you guys know when I get back if it looks like they are finished. ;)

I got conflicting info on SAB. One front desk CM said the kiddie area would be closed during the first week of Nov. another one said that it was done already. I'm not sure about those areas that are blocked off... I'll probably call back and ask, then I'll let you guys know. :)

Thanks, Erica! It looks like they should be finished by the time we arrive.

Hope you get a newly refurbished room. Have a great time :D !

Have you heard anything about the renos at the BC?

I had initially heard they were beginning to do room renos
in October until March.

Hope they finish on schedule-We go in May.

I came back from the BC on Monday, and there were no renovations going on there. They were renovating part of SAB, but that's all I saw.

Has anyone heard of renos being done at BC
or was I just imagining it?
