We have booked a YC-water view for part of our stay in November. There are five of us - 2 adults and 3 children who will be 10,7 and 2. Is water view a lot better than standard view? Should I make any special room requests? Which is better StromALong Bay view or lake view? Thanks for your advice!!!

We love the YC (we've stayed there over a dozen times over the years). The view has never been that big a deal to me (although we do usually stay lagoone view) because I am just so happy to be there in the first place. Overall, however, I like a room that overlooks SAB, because that usually also gives a great view across the lagoon to the Boardwalk and also gives a view to parts of Epcot. You will be happy no matter where you end up!

View is not real important to us either, but we do enjoy having one.

That being said, I wanted to say that I think you'll love the YC. It's quiet, peaceful & a very classy resort. We love it!

For myself I've never had any sentimental attachment to a view other than a castle view if I stay at a monorail resort. We did BWI water view and it was nice, but not a must for me. On the other hand, someone just posted a review of the YC concierge and really talked highly of their waterview. here is the link:

My DH and i had a great view overlooking SAB and BWI( seeing some of the lagoon). We really enjoyed sitting out on our balcony so the view was a huge plus for us. Also this may sound funny but the sounds from the water, SAB etc... just really added to the atmosphere. We loved it.

A great view at YC are the rooms overlooking the courtyard where the gazebo is located. Many weddings take place in the gazebo so that is something magical to see from your balcony. princess:

I booked standard view in Febuary and then received a comp upgrade to Water view (lagoon). If it's not extremely busy I havefound that you may receive the upgrade for free. However, don't go expecting it, so if your hear is set on WV pay for it ahead of time.
