I was trying to find out more information about the Yacht Club Conceirge level. Specifically the lagoon view rooms!

1. Do they have king size beds?
2. Can you see the fire works from the balcony at night?
3. What was the food like?
4. Was the walk far to Epcot or MGM?
5. Is alcohol included? If so what kind?
6. Was it worth it for the PS service?
7. Is the lounge far from the rooms?

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I appreciate any info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:jumping1:

Also if anyone has pictures of the room, especially fromj the balcony looking out at the lagoon/Epcot....would love to see them!!!!!!

Thanks!!

We stayed Lagoon View but not Consierge.
1. I think you can request a King size bed.
2. I assume you mean the Epcot fireworks (Illuminations). From some rooms I guess you can see some of the fireworks but much of the show is lower to the ground and water.
3. Don't know what the Consierge food was like since we did not stay Consierge. (Some very nice restaurants in that area though!!)
4. Walk to Epcot is 5-10 minute walk depending on where you are in the resort. MGM is a longer walk... we took the boat service which was great.

Sorry can't answer the rest of your questions.
I will say that we LOVED the YC. We were treated wonderfully and all the service was excellent!
The grounds and Stormalong bay are wonderful. Have a wonderful stay there.
We are headed back to AKL this time but next Nov we will be back at the YC. Our Favorite!!!! ::MinnieMo

Well, I will do my best to answer some of your questions, but I don't have answers to them all.

The food in the lounge was pretty good. Breakfast was pastries, cereal, fruit, etc. Midday had PB&J, crackers, cheese, goldfish, gummi bears, nuts. Early evening usually had two hot appetizers, veggies, crackers, cheese, PB&J, etc. And then evening cordials offered varied desserts and yes, alcohol. They usually had 3 different wine offerings, beer, and then Kaluha, Baileys, Scotch, etc. Wow, that actually answered two questions. ;)
The two things that I didn't like about the lounge were the size (it was pretty small) and the fact that it closed down completely between offerings. Not a real big deal, but something to consider.

Next, the walk to Epcot and MGM. The walk to the International Gateway at Epcot probably took about 10 minutes. The walk to MGM was probably about 20 min. Both were really nice and relaxing and would do it again in a heart beat.

HTH. Sorry I don't have any answers for you regarding the room. We were in a standard room (with no balcony) but we overlooked the wedding gazebo and if we looked all the way to our left, we could see the Boardwalk.

Have a great trip.

I'd like to know more about these rooms also, do they have smoking options room in conceirge since it is just one floor, and does every room in conceirge have a full size balcony?
Thanks,
Shelby

BUMP----------WHAT KIND OF HOT APPS??? :scratchin

Someone might be able to help out a little more with this one, as my memory sometimes dissapoints me. I do remember one night they had clam chowder and oysters. I remember this specifically b/c I am allergic to shellfish. Another night I think they had some sort of a chiken dish and another soup. I do know that my DH had plenty of oysters :teeth: . Sorry I can't be of more help. Hopefully someone will be able to give a better menu. I will say that I remember that I was NOT disappointed (in the food offerings that is, my memory, yes :rotfl: )

Stayed at YC concierge many times. Here are my answers:

1. Some rooms have king size beds, but most have two queens.

2. Some Illuminations fireworks can be seen from many of the rooms, but not from all of the rooms. The are some rooms (but not many) that face the wrong way to see the fireworks. You can also see some of the Wishes fireworks from the Concierge lounge.

3. Lounge has typical concierge food - breakfast stuff; cold snacks in afternoon; hot apps in the evening and desserts at night. Overall, enough to have some nice snacks now and then, but not enough to make a meal of.

4. Walk to Epcot is less than 10 minutes; about 20 minutes to MGM

5. Some wines and cordials are available in the lounge in the evenings.

6. The PS planning service is very beneficial; it is up to each person as to whether it is worth the cost.

7. Rooms can be quite close to the lounge or down a somewhat lengthy corridor. Even rooms at the very end, however, are a not unreasonable distance from the lounge.

I've stayed in two lagoon view concierge rooms at YC. 5183 and 5175. Both are very conveniently located down the hall from the lounge which also makes it not too far of a walk to the elevators. If you look at the back entrance of the YC (in my opinion, the prettiest entrance) room 5183 is on the top floor to the right three balconies over from the entrance doors and 5175 is to the left two balconies over from the entrance doors. I love the view from both of these rooms. 5183 has more of a Boardwalk and Crescent Lake view and the view from 5175 also has a wonderful Boarkwalk and Crescent Lake view but you can also see a little of Illuminations so you get the best of both worlds. Both of these rooms have the queen beds and day bed but king beds are available on the concierge floor. One of the best things about the YC is the balconies. I LOVE sitting here watching the boats and the people. The lounge is not very big but I have never seen a time when I didn't have somewhere to sit and the food has always been good. They had mussells and clams one evening and a chicken and pasta dish another night. I don't remember exactly what they had every night because we ate out each night but I do remember everything was good that I sampled. They get their food from Yachtsman's Steakhouse and the Yacht Galley and they both have excellent food. I always got GREAT service with the planning staff and always got PS's that I wanted (CRT breakfast, etc.) Even booked the Breathless Illuminations Cruise. If you're able to do that you should really try and get it. It is definitely worth it!! If you have any other questions that haven't been answered I'd be glad to try and help. Oh I wish I were going back soon to YC!!!

Okay, I'll throw in my opinion, but it's based only on one stay this past December.

1 & 2. I can't help you with as we also stayed in a standard view room. I will say that the beds were extremely comfortable and we had great mousekeeping service.

3. The lounge doesn't open until 7am. At 6:30 they do put out some coffee on the table outside the lounge. From 7am-10:30am they had fruit, cold cereal, packets of oatmeal, donuts, croissants, bagels, juices, coffee & tea. The lounge closes at 10:30am and reopens from 11am-4pm. Servings here were snacks consisting of gummy worms, goldfish crackers, pretzels, nuts, cookies, pudding packs, iced tea, lemonade, coffee, tea and soda. Once again the lounge closes at 4pm and reopens from 5-7pm with assorted wines, beer, usually a soup and appetizer type hot dish, uncrustable pb&j sandwiches, cheese & crackers, vegetables and dip. It's closed at 7pm, reopens from 8-10pm with mini pastries, cordials (Kahlua, Baileys) and finally closes for the night at 10pm. The lounge is small, with only 2 tables large enough to hold 4 or 5 people. The others could really only fit 2 or 3 comfortably. There is a balcony, but it overlooks the parking lot. I was disappointed that you couldn't utilize the lounge for sitting on the sofa, reading the paper, watching tv and getting a cold drink.

4. I think it honestly takes longer to walk to the boat dock to get the resort launch than it does to walk to Epcot. Very convenient. MGM is a bit further and probably better reached by the boat.

5. Yes complimentary alcohol is served from 5-7pm in the form of a few different wines and beers. From 8pm-10pm there are cordials like Baileys & Kahlua available for concierge guests.

6. The pre-planning staff is by far the best on property. They are warm and friendly. We had one CM at the resort that left a sour taste, but the others we dealt with during our stay were wonderful. Can't comment on whether or not it's worth it, but if you like having your planning completely taken care of with one e-mail and no 6am wake up calls, then it's a consideration.

7. Our room felt like it was a mile walk from the lounge, staff and elevator, but there were plenty that seemed to be close by.

Bottom line, I loved the YC's pre-planning staff and the proximity to the parks. Even bus transportation to other parks was great. I was just not impressed with the lounge and if I stay in that area again, I will probably give the Boardwalk a try.
