Yacht Club Club Level Questions

We are thinking of a Club level stay at the Yacht Club sometime next year. We are weighing this against a Poly Club level stay. We have done AKL club level several years ago, and that is our only experience.

I'd like some input on the Yacht Club versus Poly club level stays. The point totals are roughly the same per night to trade in.

Lastly, as I can't remember, can I book club level at seven months or 11 months.

Thanks in advance.

PS - Is there a Yacht Club adoration thread. I couldn't find one.

We like the Poly club level better.
The lounge at the YC was basically a hotel room with tables in it. The lounge at the Poly was very nice, with a nice view of the 7-Seas Lagoon. The Poly uses a dedicated longhouse for club level (Hawaii, I believe).
The offerings at both were outstanding. :smokin:

Thanks. Nice to know. Just so I'm clear on your statement - when I book Poly Club Level I'm guranteed to stay in the same building as the lounge? That would be one main draw back of Poly - Having to walk to the lounge each time.

I think that it depends on what you're looking for.

We found our stay at the YC club level to be less crowded and therefore a bit more relaxed. The Polynesian's lounge is more impressive, but it also tends to be pretty busy there, especially at meal service times. We've had excellent service at both.

I hope that helps a little bit!

Yes, at least that's the way it was last time I stayed a few years back. The lounge is at the end of the longhouse. Check-in is also there.
There were also two different categories back then, Lagoon View and Garden View. All were in the Hawaii longhouse, just opposite sides. Not all Lagoon View rooms have balconies though. I believe only the third floor has them, and the first floor has patios. The second floor does not. I believe that's correct, but double check me on that. :smokin:

Thanks as this is good to know.

You can also probably find a ton of info on the Resort Board. Info on the DVC Board will be somewhat limited since neither the Poly nor the YC are DVC Resorts. :smokin:

That's correct, MG. There are suites in a separate building, Tonga, but all club level rooms are in Hawaii. Second floor rooms only have sliders that open to a railing but are on the same floor as the lounge.

On the resort board, there is a resort FAQ at the top (sticky). It has info on both resorts and there is also a concierge thread on that FAQ.
