So let me get this straight. Are both buffets the same except the Beach Club has the character interaction or is the buffet different also?

The nice thing about the Captain's Grille is it is not as busy because there aren't characters. You can order off the menu or have the buffet. We had both. The dgs loved Cape May because of the characters. We all enjoyed our breakfast buffet at Captain's Grille as well.

Don't get me wrong, there are lots of families at the Captain's Grille. I also think that guests from other resorts are less likely to head over to the YC.

DH and I enjoyed the relative quiet at the YC!

Yes they are the exact same buffets but Cape May is better because the food is alot fresher since it is busier and turns over faster. Our 2 meals at Capts Grill we did the buffet and it wasnt good

I was wondering the same thing. We are staying at the BC and booked a breakfast at Cape May. My kids are 16 and 19 so characters aren't necessarily a big draw. Now I'm thinking of switching my reservation for breakfast to the Captain's Grille to save a significant amount of money. If the food is the same I think it might be worth my while. I could use the savings to splurge somewhere else.:confused3

We are only 2 adults, so we haven't tried the breakfast at BC because characters aren't necessary for us. We have eaten at Captain's Grille a few times for breakfast (no ADR's, just walked in). It's always been quiet .. nice start to the morning. As another poster mentioned, you can either do the buffet (which is cheaper than Cape May Cafe) or you can order off the menu. If you aren't looking for the character breakfast, then I would definitely do Captain's Grille.
Another suggestion for breakfast in Epcot area is Kouzzina (at the Boardwalk). We love it there. We never make ADR's for breakfast because we never know what we might want to eat in the morning, but we have walked in Kouzzina and had a great breakfast twice now.

I have done the Captain's Grille breakfast buffet a couple of times in 2010 and various times on past trips (even when the restaurant was Yacht Club Galley) and found it to be good each time.

Of course there are some items, I personally stay away from, like the pre-cooked bacon found on every Disney breakfast buffet. (It's just never really good.) My favorite item on the Captain's Grille breakfast buffet is a roasted Roma tomato with lightly sprinkled Parm cheese melted on it. I've noticed that it's been on the buffet when I first noticed it in October 2009. (July 2010 and October 2010, they were still offered. Yum.)

And you do not have to order the buffet if you want breakfast from the menu.

Another buffet breakfast in the area that I enjoy is Fresh at the Dolphin. I ate there in December, and it was still as good as the first time I've tried it.

We just discoverd the Captain's Grille breakfast buffet -and we ate there twice last month! We absolutely loved the food, the server (We had Susie from Chadds Ford, PA both times!) & the atmosphere. It was almost empty both times, and they were constantly changing out & replenishing the food. There was a large variety there, and every single thing was excellent. The strawberries were HUGE! Our server was super attentive & had our coffee & juices filled every time we blinked.

I've only eaten at Cape May Buffet for dinner, so I can't compare the two for you. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in on Captain's Grille!

It's $16.99 for adults & $9.99 for kids.

We like Cap. Grill for breakfast because not everyone HAS to get the buffet. (Not an option at Cape May). When we go, the big guys get the buffet and us "girls" get the menu selection. This is perfect for us and everyone is happy. Plus it's nice and quiet and relaxing. This is a must do on our very small dining list.

We stayed at the BCVs for 8 nights in December and ate 7/8 breakfasts at the Captains Grille. We much preferred the atmosphere to Cape May. The service was excellent, the food was great and it was so nice to be able to have a hot breakfast and get in and out in under 45 minutes. I loved the reuben eggs!! I can't wait to go back.

Thanks to everyone who responded. It definitely helped me to make up my mind. I can't wait to go. 4 months from tomorrow!:cool1:
