Any comments on the Yacht Club? I'm thinking about it for next fall. It doesn't get much mention here. I'm wondering why. :confused3

the yC is the BEST resort on Disney property!!!! at least I think so!! best location, with MGM and epcot ...you can walk to both or take the boats. you have the boardwalk, so you can spend the evening on the boardwalk...and watch the fireworks from Epcot!! there is plenty of info on here reguarding YC, just need to do a search!!
enjoy :goodvibes

I love, love, love the YC.
A lot of people seem to choose BC over YC b/c it's a closer walk to EPCOT but I like the atmosphere better at the YC. SAB is unbelievable! The location is amazing. There is so much to do on the Boardwalk, food, bars, surrey bikes, boat launches, short walk to EPCOT and a short boat ride to MGM all combined make the YC an easy decision for me. Its definitely worth the money.

:teeth: Sounds like a no-brainer to me!

I've stayed at the WL twice and at the Contemporary once. I thought I'd try something on the other side of town. I love the idea that you can walk to Epcot! Cool! :cheer2:

Loved it loved it loved it. The decor is lovely. SAB is fun and there are THREE hot tubs. The landscaping is beautiful. Nice beach. Beaches 'n Cream. Walk to Epcot. Walk or take the boat to MGM.

Besides all that, the rooms are very thoughtfully appointed. There is a 4 drawer chest of drawers, in addition to other drawers. There are two lights with dimmers over each bed. There's an extra storage shelf in the sink/vanity area.

We did a CR/YC split. I knew that the CR rooms were larger, but the YC rooms "felt" larger because they were so well thought out.

Look at my sign-on name. That tells you how I feel about the place. It's so relaxing and I love spending time on the balcony looking out over Crescent Lake. Everything from the gleaming hardwood floors to the manicured lawns and the very friendly CMs keep me coming back to the YC time after time. I think you will truly love it.

Wow, that's great. I don't even think of those kinds of things. Thanks very much. Now that I have a resort picked out, I can book it! :Pinkbounc

Wow, I think I have made up my mind (and you have no idea what a struggle this has been!) and now I can't wait to book it. I think I am really going to love the YC. :teeth:

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Yacht Club!!!

My DH won't stay anywhere else.....the resort has it all, location, fabulous pool, great restaurants, fantastic atmosphere......you can't go wrong there!!

Honeibee, please forgive me. I promise I'm not hijacking your thread but it caught my attention as I'm also interested in the YC for Oct 06. Could I add 2 questions to your thread? :)

If I wanted to eat at one of the BC restaurants how long would it take to walk there from YC?

Am I right in thinking that EVERY room in YC has a balcony, even the standard rooms?

I'll keep watching this thread. I've been reading only good things about this resort so I should start saving!

From the YC to the BC. They are actually (or apparently) one building. Different theming. But to walk from one lobby to the other it is less than 5 minutes.

We love both hotels. We own at BCV, so that's "our home". But when I got the chance to pick which hotel I wanted to stay at for a conference in October, I jumped at the chance to stay at the Yach Club. We love it!!!

Woo hoo - 19 days until we stay at the BCV!!

:thewave:

They're actually connected. You just walk out the back by the pool and can walk into the back door of either hotel. Minutes. I'm pretty sure every room has a balcony at YC or either a patio (first floor).

I am very happy to share my post with you. :flower:

I get the feeling the YC is the way to go!

As a side note: if either of you are planning on staying concierge, the YC/BC/BWI itinerary planners are the best on property, hands down!!

There are actually a very very few rooms at YC without a balcony, so if a balcony is important to you, put it in your room request.

Also, if you pay for a water view, make sure you request a view of the Lake/Boardwalk. We booked a standard and got a free upgrade to a water view, but it turned out to be a view of the quiet pool. It was a great upgrade for free, but if I had paid for a water view and didn't get a view of the boardwalk, I would have been ticked.

A view of the wedding gazebo is considered standard view and it is very nice. It's also on the lake side.
