A few rambling thoughts from our vacation.

-This was our first trip in consecutive years, usually we go every other year. A little less anticipation this year since we had only decided to go three months before.

-Yacht Club is a great resort, the location is second to none. Storm-a-long bay is a fantastic pool facility. I've read others say that the bus service is a negative, but I have stayed there twice and I don't find it to be so. Actually I've stayed at ASMo, ASMu, CBR and YC twice and found the YC bus service to be the best among these.

-Philharmagic is a great experience, one of the highlights of the trip.

-Rode Mission Space. Unbelievable experience, probably won't do it again because it made me feel bad for a good hour after riding. It was going fine, I didn't feel dizzy or sick until the last 30 seconds or so but they felt like 30 minutes. The lines for Mission Space were virtually non-existent. The time i rode it it had a 20 minute standby wait and when others in our party rode it later the wait was 5 minutes. Test track however is as long a wait as ever. I never saw the single rider line shorter than 45 minutes or the standby line less than an hour. I got the last fast passes for the day at 12:45 and they were for 8:25-9:00. Came back but the had closed the ride for bad weather. I'm sure they hoped that Mission Space would rival the popularity and split some of the crowd that way, but it hasn't happened, too many are fearful of riding Mission Space.

-Did Carousel of Progress for the irst time. Not a bad way to kill a little time waiting for fastpass time.

-Only did 3 theme park days this trip, went to BB and TL this trip. My kids seem to enjoy the water parks more than the theme parks. Blizzard Beach has always been our favorite but I really enjoyed Typhoon this year. A little more laid-back atmosphere, shorter line more shade and the best wave pool on the planet.

-Had a hole-in-one at Fantasia Fairways.

-Ate at Big River Brewery twice. Very good meal both visits.

-We had a ball at 50's Prime Time Cafe. We had 14 of us, split into 3 tables. The waiter and waitress were a hoot. Food was pretty good, atmosphere was tremendous.

-Had lunch at Tony's at MK. Excellent meal, excellent service. Will go back.

-Lunch at Mexico was the lone bad experience of the trip. Food was ok, pricey for what you get and the service was flat-out awful.

-Saw Fantasmic for first time in a few years, good as ever.

-Still have two days left on four passes so we are ahead of the game for our next trip...

May be awhile before we go again, but anotehr great trip..

-we also ate at the Earl of Sandwich and give it a rousing thumbs up.

This was a great trip report - glad you had such a good trip. We were trying to decide between WL and Beach Club for our mini trip this Christmas and I think you have swayed us! DH really likes the look of the pool.
Isn't 50's prime time cafe fun?! Nice to find a fan of Tony's too. I had the best lunch there - the pizza was wonderful! My sister and her husband and son took me while my husband was seeing "Lord of the Rings" at DTD on opening day and she didn't really care for it. I think it is all about different personalities.
I loved Mission space too and I couldn't believe the short lines - I enjoyed it so much more than Test Track (I did take gravol in advance though!).

This was our second visit to 50's. The first our waiter wasn't much fun. This trip the waiter and waitress for our tables found out quickly that we enjoy a little fun and they just took off. Three of our kids had to stand up and sing "I'm a little teapot", we all did airplane noises as the waiter, playing a kazoo, tried to get my SIL eat another bite of green beans, our friend went to check on her kids at their table and was made to stand in the corner, my daughter did something the waiter didn't like and he made her sit at a table with another family. Our waitress gave us all names, I was Boomer, and she remembered what name she had given us throughout the meal. It was the most fun I've ever had at a restaurant.

Great trip report PhotoBob!

I had a similar experiance with Mission Space. I think good advice for riding MS, is to not plan anything immediatly following the ride...just in case!

Isnt it a great feeling to have days left on a ticket? We have a seven day hopper that we did not use at all on our last trip.

I really love the Epcot resorts area, and SAB is a pretty cool pool. I can't wait to here more about your trip......see you soon.

Glad you liked the YC! As you can see, it's my favorite too. I'm also pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meal at Tony's. I hear so many negative things on these boards about Tony's and I've always thought it was a very good restaurant. The meals I've had there were great and the service was also good. Glad you had a wonderful trip. We'll be going back to YC in three weeks!:teeth:

Good to hear from you RealMickey. Going back anytime soon? I'll share more with you about the trip on the sidelines this fall. To YCFAN, this is two years in a row for us at the YC. Our first trip we got upgraded when POFQ closed for rehab and had a ridiculously low rate and this year my BIL paid for our rooms. I couldn't have afforded to stay there otherwise so I hope we haven't gotten too spoiled. The staff at the YC really goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The resort is great but the location makes it even better. The walk to the international gate at Epcot is less than five minutes, walking to restaurants and shopping at Boardwalk is about the same and the short boat ride to MGM makes it the best place to stay in my opinion. The monorail resorts probably are close in convenience but I've yet to stay in one so I really don't know. Almost forgot, my wife and I shared our first Beavertail at Canada, very good. Still haven't had a Dolewhip though, oh well, there is always next time!

funny, our experience at mexico years ago was very subpar

I had a hankering for mexican though so we went again...was pleasantly surprised this time as our food was excellent that night
