Ya Ya's, Angels and Thread Killers, OH MY!

What are all of these things? We have One Word Association games, Like it/Hate it/Never Tried it games, Tagliarchy, Interview Person Above, Below, Beyond...etc!!

I've been on these boards for quite a while, and I don't think I've ever read these threads. It seems like they were just there one day, and now they have millions of posts. Maybe I'm just too lazy to read through 6,275 pages of posts?

I'm just looking for a rough description I guess. Who joins in? What are they about ? That kind of thing. Is some sort of initiation required, or membership fee?

Maybe there are other clueless people out there that are wondering the same thing?

I post on a few of these... just a group of friends who sit and chat... stop in and say hi to any of them... all seem very welcoming

No they didn't just suddenly appear but have been here for awhile. However, the titles do change.

The threads contain "regular" (well okay, most are "irregular") posters who like to hang out together and discuss family, life, or anything in particular without a specific theme. So, they have each carved out a little corner of the CB.

It may take a while to catch on to who is who and what some inside jokes are, but none of them are exclusionary and all welcome new participants.

Of those I am familiar with, the Angels started as a group of riddlers who stay together and the Ya-Ya's are just a chatty bunch of folks who do have an initiation - but you'll have to ask them about that.

ALAN! Who you calling irregulars? (and you're not suppose to mention the initiation while off the ship, remember?)

Come on by and visit the YaYa's sometime. We're just a bunch who like to chat and give support to each other. Stop by the other threads, too. Any I have visited have always been friendly and welcoming.

Check out the yayas!! We're a fun bunch of roadkill eatin', buildabearmakin, mangrabbin folks!! We love visitors and if you don't want to be just a visitor grab yourself a cabin and some cabana people and enjoy the ship!

The Traveling Dis'ers(formerly the Homeless Disers) are group that didnt have a thread to be a part of, so we opened a house in Vegas we stayed there for a couple of months, then we moved to Hawaii rented a mansion in Maui (we seem to have bottomless supply of money thanks to all the money we won in Vegas), then we bought a Cruise Ship sailed out of hawaii and stopped and visited locations along the way. Sometimes we stop for a day sometimes several and take virtual tours of the places we visit, right now we are camped out for an extended period of time in WDW.
We do have a core group, but people will see some place interesting that we are touring and come along for the day and some end up staying which is great we love to get input on places to go.

I like to post on the Thread Killers thread.

I believe it was started because one day someone felt like all the threads they posted to died right after they posted.

Well, we tried to kill the Thread Killers thread but it refuses to go

There are a few "regulars" who check in every now and again just to say Hi and how are things going. We always like to see new posters come and try to kill the thread killers thread

If you get the chance to go back and read up on this thread there are some really great stories that were/are told by one of our "regulars".

It is just a nice, friendly, quiet little corner of the DIS!
