Hi All -
Entirely with the DIS Boards in mind, these are the photos I took on our trip last month to WDW. Mimi at the Wilderness Lodge is the talented and busy creator.

We never asked for them, just told her how much we appreciated them. She said that mousekeeping has been asked now to make the towel animals because so many guests love them. As with many Disney policies, the CM's may not offer for you to take the towel animals home, but if you ask, they will tell you yes.

Since ours are immortalized in photos, no need to kidnap them. Now, if the pirate just resembled Jack Sparrow a tad more it would be a different story!!;)

haha! Those are great! The towel human is pretty neat too!:scared1:

I hope we get towel animals when we are down there!!:wizard:

Aw, that is adorable! Thanks for sharing. We've yet to receive towel animals. We'll be checking into the CR on Friday (first time ever :woohoo: ) so here's hoping we get lucky! It would thrill my sons to no end to find a towel animal! :goodvibes

Those have got to be the best towel animals I've seen!

We just did a week at the CR and did not see a single towel animal in our room. We had lots of problems with mousekeeping. I would have been happy just to get clean towels or even one washcloth. What we did get was our room painted while we were at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. What a shock it was to come back from breakfast and find a "Wet Paint" sign on our floor. We smelled paint and had to get the kids on a bed for fear they would touch something.

I guess I just don't understand how terribly inconsistent the quality of mousekeeping can be.

Now those are towel animals!

When we were at CBR, we got 2 animals, 1 when we checked in and 1 on the day we checked out. I wouldn't exactly call them towel animals, more like washcloth animals, because they were tiny. I'm not sure what the first one was supposed to be, but the 2nd one was a tiny fish. I'm happy that I got any, because so many people say that they never got one.

I like the pirate one, but I think it would have scared the poop out of me if I walked into the room and saw that. It's kind of looks too much like a person!

Very cute and creative towel animals. We have gotten them the last 2 times we went, GF and WL, but not so elabrate!!!! Maybe it was becasue our visits were 6 years ago. Wow! Good luck to everyone with their towel hopes!

Rusty's Mom -

That pirate DID scare the heck outta me - especially coming back to the room late after EMH! I had never seen anything like it~pirate:

I might add that Mimi said try as they might, some mousekeepers cannot learn to do towel animals, as she has tried to teach other staff. At Yacht Club, they were giving lessons in the lobby to kids with washcloths.

And I absolutely agree with the other posters who would be happy with a clean room sans towel animals! Sad reflection on service and expectations if I say that I feel pixiedusted to have had both!!LOLOL

Sorry to hear about your poor experiences. :scared: I hope it didn't put too much of a damper on your trip!

Mimi is fabulous! We had her in Feb at WL and every day she did such wonderful things with the towels AND my boys stuffed animals! One day they were climbing the dresser. Another day they were "diving" into a towel pool (blue made w/ laundry bag). Another night they were all watching TV when we got back- with the remote control. The BEST mousekeeper EVER!

We spent 14 nights at WL this August and didn't get a single towel animal or toys re-arranged! So you were very lucky!

What was your room number? We are going to be at the Lodge in December and my son was just asking if Mimi was still there. She was our Lodgekeeper in December of 04 and one of the highligts of our trip was returning to the room each day to see her latest creation.

Our first day we came home to find a cute towel cat. The next day our mousekeeper came to clean while we were changing for the pool. My DH told her the cat was cute and asked for 2 more- we have 3 kids. She didn't speak a lot of English but she nderstood. I didn;t tell him he wasn't supposed to ask for towel animals, he was so excited about the whole thing. She did make 2 cute bunnies and my kids liked them.

Johndavid - It was 5164 - the outer recesses of the WL, I'm afraid, but with a lovely view of the quiet pool...

I am delighted that folks like our towel friends. I told Mimi she was going to be famous on the DIS!!! Such a sweetheart!

Melomouse - Thank you. We had rooms 5161 and 5163 on our last trip. I'm hoping to get rooms in the same area. It was a hike at the end of the day but the view was well worth it.

Wow! How talented!! Thanks for sharing!:thumbsup2
