Lordy Lord! I just called to cancel a few ADR's that I had forgotten i made (i know, im a newbie...I'm embarrassed, but posted them for Dis'rs to take :) ) and I asked about changing a few ADRS to earlier times.

NOPE. Nada. Were talking over 3 months out still. Le Cellier wiped out for the whole week, not even lunch. Cali Grill wiped out during prime Wishes time. O'hana, almost gone, no good times left just really really late.

I didnt check on much else, but i can imagine that with free dining it will ALL be gone in just a matter or a couple of weeks.

I wonder how many people are clueless (that would be me if i hadnt found you guys) and are figuring to wing it.

I know i work with a "know it all" 23 yr old barbie doll nurse *yes im jealous*, and she is going to Disney this month. I told her months ago to make ADRS and she just snorted at me and said her parents go all the time and never needed to make ADRS (they are wealthy so they eat very well...well...not so much this time im thinking) Good luck to her :sad2:

Free dining is going to include lots of counter service for some folks.

I agree. If I tell my friends that I am making dinner reservations for December they probably will think I am nutty.. Thank goodness you all understand me! :jumping1:

As soon as I saw that Disney was doing free dining again I set up ADRs for our trip. I wasn't taking the chance of being stuck with nowhere to eat all week.

I set up our ADRs as soon as free dinnig was anniouced and was only available to VISA holders, so I had the ADRs a couple fo days booked before the room!

I have had to change a few, but not had any problems, but I also have 'Ohana and Cali Grill During Wishes and Le Cellier at 7 pm, LLT at 5.15 beofre MSSHP and a few other harder to get ones :)

I just today made all my ADRs for Sept. 17th-25, including lots of popular places, and I got all the days and exact times I was after - so I'm hoping that's a good sign!

Wow that is good!!!! Not sure when your times were that you wanted, but I know we like to eat pretty early in the 5:30-6pm hour and some tuff places were getting booked or are already booked. I was able to change 50 prime time to earlier (skeered of missing Fantasmic).

You must be going during a good time. I called last week to make our for last week of sept and 1st of oct and the places were just about booked, I had to change a couple of day schedules to get the places we wanted. LTT CS LeCellier H&V Fantasmic 50's. But we were able to work around and get them, the only 1 I could not get was mama melrose wanted this for the fantasmic but went with H& V. I did get the lunch another time at H&V for the new character meal. We had to change from early sept to late sept. :sunny:

We ate at Boma last week, having made ADRs two months earlier. We arrived 10 minutes early, got a table after only a minute or so, and had a wonderful time. But I could not believe the number of people complaining loudly and demanding to see a manager because they couldn't get in! Folks that either did not have ADRs or arrived after their ADR time, and still expected to get in immediately. Especially the folks staying at AKL; they assumed that as guests of the lodge, they should be able to walk right in any restaurant there. I have to give the Boma cast members credit, they were very calm and patient, and they were taking a lot of unreasonable abuse.

I would tell ANYONE heading for WDW, get ADRs for every table service meal, or you'll be up that creek without a paddle.

Sept. 20th: Cyrstal Palace at 8:05am

Sept. 21st: Rainforest Cafe (AK) at 8:30am
Boma at 7:00pm

Sept. 22nd: Boma at 9:00am

Sept. 23rd: Flying Fish for 5:30pm

I think we did pretty well! :teeth:

I've been lucky getting all the times I wanted and I even called today to change one breakfast time.

I just cancelled a Kona res. and picked up another Kona res. for a different night today for August. No problems, but there are only two of us.

Yeah you did! Were any times you wanted gone, i notice a lot of breakfasts and lunch at le cellier. I think Breakfast might be a tad easier than dinners. I know i was having issues with my dinner adr's. I was able to get an earlier time on 50' pt, but i wanted 4:30 lol, not the most popular dinner times! I was trying to do a le cellier dinner on another night she said booked totally for that week.

Yup you got a good line up there :) BTW, we'll be at POR a few days after you, so keep the hurricanes away for us ok?

I have somehow never actually witnessed the CMs catching 'heck' from customers, but I can only imagine how bad it must get. Makes me feel bad for them, as there (obviously) isn't anything that can be done about the situation. I guess those that missed out will know better next time, but it is still unfortunate.

Some people just don't want to be helped :rolleyes1

I made some of my ADRs months ago (during Visa windows) :goodvibes and got what I wanted. However, I did make more ADRs a few days ago and got everything else I wanted. Here's what I had already:

Prime Time 6:30
Park Faire 8 p.m. :goodvibes
San Angel Inn Noon
Le Cellier 7:30 :goodvibes
Kona 7:10 (had to cancel due to MNSSHP :sad2: )

Added the other day:
Kona 6:25 :lovestruc
Calif. Grill 7:40 :woohoo:
LTT (changed from 4:10 to 5:55) MNSSHP
Rose & Crown 7:30 :woohoo:
Brown Derby 7:30
Park Faire 10:20 a.m. :bday: for DD7!

I think I also did very well! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

As you can see we do like to eat dinner late :cloud9: and for your info we are only a party of 3. princess: princess: princess:
I have to say here, am I the only one who gets grief from your family regarding booking so many ADRs? :sad2: "What if we can't make it....." I've explained to my DM, time and time again, that I know our plans might change but at least this way we have 1 TS planned for almost every day. I also make sure I make TS ADRs at non-parks too so we don't have to go to the parks everyday (and we don't). At least we have some options this way and won't be stuck eating only at the less popular (and less delicious) places.

We were able to get Marrakesh today at 6:30 pm on 8/14. I didn't think there would be anything left. We cancelled Teppanyaki on that day at 6:00 if anyone wants it.

Even when it is not free dining, I feel bad for those who don't make their ADRs. This past Christmas on our trip, there were soooo many people trying to just walk in to every TS with nothing left! I actually tried to make a couple of changes while we were there and no way, not happening! I stress to everyone to be sure to make all their ADRs!!

I deeply appreciate all you Dis'ers. My family thought I was nuts making our ADR's a month ago for July. I am so glad that I did, but if it had not been for this board, I would not have known.

I have a couple of questions I wondered if you could help me with?

1. I managed to lose one of my confirmation codes and unsure of the time of my reservation. I believe it is 1:00 or 1:30. Will we be ok if we get there a few minutes before 1:00 and do I have to have the confirmation code?

2. The day we arrive, about 12:00pm we want to go to the Sci-Fi for lunch, but I am unsure how long it will take to check in and part of our party is driving so we are unsure what time they will arrive. Do you think we should call for an ADR as soon as we arrive?

3. Have not made plans for our final day there. Leaving it open to do anything we have missed and possibly Disney Quest. Will we be out of luck no having plans?

I appreciate any help.

I have one more ADR to add - Kona. I had better do it tomorrow. Plus change a day or two. My family also thinks I am crazy, making ADR's already. Actually, I would not have known how busy it would get if it wasn't for these boards. Thanks SO much, guys. I have learned so much from you!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
