If they just did that last year maybe it will be more of a "Ghost of Christmas past" type thing and he will let go off all his bitter self destructive attitudes.... they'll "bore him up" so he's a good fit with Mac.......... LOL

This week, Paul confronts Emily after he spies her in a lip-lock with Jack Abbott. "Paul is pretty upset," explains Stacy Haiduk. "Paul mentions that it's not a very good idea because what happens if Patty gets a whiff of this? What Paul just saw with Jack, it's harmless. To Emily, Jack is a charming, wonderful man and she feels that she can keep things at bay. She wants to have a personal life while she's in town working with Patty and he just happens to be there. He just happens to be the wrong guy."
Later, Emily gives Paul some disheartening news: Patty will never recover or be released from the mental institution. "Emily very bluntly says, 'She's not gonna get out of here,'" says Haiduk. "She just won't. It crushes Emily as much as it crushes Paul."
Paul is reluctant to accept the bad news and accuses Emily of crossing the line with Jack. Later, Emily fills Jack in about her conversation with Paul. Jack explains that he believes their relationship is serious and Emily reveals that she would like to take things slowly. "She's different than Patty, who was totally gung-ho and basically pounced on Jack. Emily's more reserved and trying to play it cool. It'll be interesting to see where things go from here."

This week, Michael lies to Gloria about Kevin in order to protect him.
Neil is less than thrilled when Katherine decides to bring Kevin in to help take Chancellor Industries public. When Gloria and Jeffrey question Kevin (in order to find out what Katherine is planning), he loses his cool and that's when Michael steps in...
"Gloria's trying to milk information about Katherine and the goings-on at Chancellor Industries," explains Christian LeBlanc. "So Michael lies to her that Chancellor is about to buy a little firm outside of Berlin that should change everything. He says that it's a tech company and that once Chancellor buys it, their stock is expected to go up. He makes up the whole thing just to get her out of the picture."
Given Kevin's knack for getting himself into sticky situations, does Michael share Neil's concerns about Kevin's involvement with the company? "He does," explains LeBlanc. "It's like every big brother in the world who has issues with letting go of his image of his younger brother being incompetent."

Phyllis's Gift
Phyllis surprises Nick with a surprise getaway this week when Jack gives her the key to the Abbott cabin. Once they arrive, she gives him a surprising gift -- a plaque she had made which honors the "deceased" Faith.
"Sharon doesn't like Phyllis being involved in any way with the baby and her mourning," sighs Sharon Case. "She doesn't want Phyllis to have anything to do with it."
Later, Ashley invites Nick, Phyllis and Summer to come by and spend some time with her and Faith, even though Victor no longer resides at the ranch. Nick thanks Phyllis for helping him get through this difficult time and he believes that he'll finally be able to move on from the death the plaque Phyllis had made. Will Sharon be appreciative of the gift or will she accuse Phyllis of sticking her nose in where it doesn't belong?

This week, Sharon defends her blossoming romance with Adam after Jack catches them kissing. "Adam just makes Sharon so happy," explains Sharon Case. "They laugh and he makes her forget about all of her problems and she doesn't have any drama with him. Instead of dealing with Nick and Jack, she completely escapes with Adam."
When Jack reminds Sharon of Adam's criminal history, she tells him to leave her house. Before exiting, Jack tells Adam that he'd better not hurt Sharon. "It doesn't really bother her, what Jack says," notes Case. "She recognizes that he's jealous and she's empathetic to him feeling that way."

"Sharon and Adam hadn't decided to tell anyone about their relationship," points out Sharon Case. "Jack finding out means he could tells Nick. Then, Noah could find out. Sharon's concerned about the ramifications of everyone else knowing."
Jack tries to remind Sharon of all of Adam's past crimes, but Sharon doesn't listen to him. "Sharon's mad at Jack for interfering," notes Case. "It's none of his business and not up for a debate."

A Closer Look at Emily
It's a stressful week for Emily this week when Paul confronts her about the kiss he witnessed between her and Jack. Paul is upset about what he saw. He's like, "You can't be seeing Jack. This goes against everything," explains Haiduk. "When Paul confronts her, it's devastating. It really breaks her heart, because she knows it's not the right thing to do. But at the same time, she needs a personal life, and Jack has been very charming to her."
Haiduk continues, "Emily doesn't want to hurt Paul, but she finally tells him, 'You don't get it. Patty's never going to get out of there. She's too screwed up to get out.' It puts Paul in a whirlwind."
Later, Emily bumps into Jack and tells him about the conversation she had with Paul. Jack doesn't think anything of it. He tells her everything will be alright. "Deep down, it still bothers Emily," says Haiduk. "But she still wants to hang out with Jack. She still wants to see him. Things aren't that serious, so she can handle it.
When Emily suggests that their relationship isn't serious, Jack is thrown off-kilter. He tells her that he might like to take things to the next level. "He says, 'I love the face, I love the mind. I love who you are. I want to get to know you more.' She is extremely torn. This relationship that's right for the heart is wrong for everything else. Emily's beginning to question if seeing Jack is the smartest thing to do..."

can someone please tell me why all writers do this.
when ever someone has someone elses baby ie ashley why do they write it that the baby doesn't seem to settle with the wrong mother but bonds so easily with the bio parents ie nick and sharron?
todays show has nick holding the baby and her being all nice and happy but when he leaves and ashley picks her up she's all fussy.

Jack is fuming mad seeing Sharon and Adam kissing, he confronts them. Sharon gets pissed at Jack for the way he talks to her and to Adam and asks him to leave. Jack warns Adam that if he hurts Sharon, he'll have hell to pay! Later, Sharon and Adam take things to the next level and Adam tells Sharon he loves her!Phyllis nails a plaque engraved with Faith's name in the tree. Nick holds Faith yet again when Summer asks to hold her. Nick grieves. Later, Jack shows up at the tackhouse wanting to talk to Nick but Phyllis refuses to let him speak to Nick about Sharon and Adam.Ryder is questioned by everyone including Kevin, they believe he knows information that can help Daniel and encourage him to talk. Just when it looks like Ryder is about to help, Daisy makes sure he keeps quiet by purposely hurting herself.

And why didn't the baby have on clothes in the cabin? Both my friend and I noticed the baby had bare legs and just the blanket around him when Ashley passed him over to Nick on the couch.

Chance asks Chloe to accompany him when he recieves his commendation. Chance tells Chloe there'll be a photographer there and he would like for Chloe to be in the picture with him, Chloe's touched
Michael meets with Mac, Cane and Lily to finalize the legal papers in regards to the surrogacy. Later, Mac admits to Billy she is both scared and excited at the same time. From the looks of it, Mac and Billy are back together
Kevin complains to Michael about Jeff and Gloria pressuring him to know what is going on with Katherine. Michael helps Kevin by lying to Jeff and Gloria and throwing them off about what is really going on

Ok so Sharon & Adam did the deed. Didn't she just give birth like 3 weeks ago? Serisously...don't you have to be cleared at your 6-week check up before doing that? (maybe it's a 4-week check-up - but I probably told DH it was 6 weeks!!) Ugh.

Hi there! This is the first time I have posted on this thread. I have been watching Y&R since 1993, and I just have to vent that the past several months of this show have been terrible! I can't remember when the show has been so bad week after week. Is it just me? I DVR the show every day, but there are many episodes I just read what that day's show is about and just hit DELETE without even watching.
Other episodes I find myself fast-forwarding through entire story lines I just could care less about (the Deacon/Daniel/Kevin thing and the Patty/Paul/Emily thing for example).
To be fair - I think the Lily/Cane storyline has been good, along with Billy/Mac and Sharon/Nick/Phyllis storylines.
Does anyone else feel this way or am I too harsh? Have I outgrown soaps?

Daniel gets suspicious of Amber and Phyllis' newfound bond, he confronts them. Amber reveals that Phyllis wants them to go on the run, Daniel gets upset at the fact both would think of him as toast. Phyllis lashes out at Amber for her big mouthMichael gets pissed when he learns Heather has already taken out an arrest warrant for Daniel after his testimony for the grand jury. Michael threatens to go to Heather's boss with her jumping the gun over the warrant, he also says he can go to Billy and have him write an article about this in Restless StyleChance is at the Athletic Club accepting his commendation, he doesn't leave Chloe's side. Chloe makes it aware to Jill and Nina that she can hear everything they say about her. When the photo is taken, he grabs Chloe in for the shot ... so sweet! Chloe seems a bit jealous when Heather shows up to congratulate ChanceMac is at Restless Style with Billy when his ONS shows up, Mac realizes he slept with her and dumps him again. Later, Chloe stops by and finds out what happened. Chloe feels bad for Billy but comes to the realization that she herself is over him, and wants Chance
