Sorry Kurby!

Katie has acted her heart out the last few days. No makeup, all emotion. She has done a great job!

Next - Adam surprises Sharon; Jack and Victor face off; Victoria goes to Jimmy's Halloween Party, Billy is there having fun that is until Victoria slaps him, it looked more like a slug to me

Nick is furious this week when he sees Adam cozying up to his ex, and he warns his brother to stay away from Sharon.

It all starts when Adam surprises Sharon with a visit on Halloween night. She invites him into her home and they have fun playing holiday games. Nick and Phyllis are taking Summer trick-or-treating, and when they arrive at Sharon's house, they find Adam helping Sharon pass out candy. Nick is furious, but he tries his best not to let anyone see it. When Nick asks what Adam is doing there, he cleverly dodges the question. Later, Nick walks into the living room and sees Adam having wine with Sharon in front of a roaring fireplace. Understandably, Nick is uncomfortable.

"Adam's not intending to get into any arguments with Nick," explains Michael Muhney. "First of all, it's a complete surprise when Nick shows up. But when he does, Adam is like, 'Okay, I was visiting Sharon and having a good time, but now that Nick's shown up and I see that he's squirming, I'm going to enjoy that too.' He has no problem enjoying himself on a genuine level, but if it just by default happens to upset Nick, well... then good." Muhney continues by saying that Nick has found quite a match in Adam. "It's like Tyson and Holyfield. Somebody's going to bite somebody's ear off."

Phyllis realizes that Nick is angry and quickly pulls him from the house. Once they're alone, Phyllis confronts him about how the sight of Adam with Sharon drives him up the wall. Nick tries to brush it off, but Phyllis wants him to open up and talk about it. In fact, she even goes so far as to suggest he should discuss his feelings with Sharon! "Time and time again, Phyllis has proven to be a woman of selfless acts," says Joshua Morrow. "Phyllis wants Nick to hurry up and work through whatever he needs with Sharon so they can move forward with their lives."

Nick visits Sharon and confronts her about her relationship with Adam. Explains Morrow, "Nick doesn't have a choice. He can't just let it go. If he doesn't tell Sharon point blank that Adam is evil, he wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Nick tends to worry about Sharon too much. He can't help it. He still has very strong feelings for this woman." As Nick warns Sharon to stay away from Adam, she reminds him that he's her ex-husband and he has no say in who she chooses to be friends with. Nick tells her that he understands she's a big girl who can make her own decisions, but if Adam hurts her, he'll be there for her.

As for Adam, Muhney explains "I think it's a surprise, even to him, that he's developed feelings for Sharon as a friend. It's kind of like the reverse of Stockholm syndrome, where the aggressor bonds with the prey. he almost wants to forget that he stole her baby. He wants to push that away because Sharon's the one person he feels he can be himself around."

Later in the week, Nick goes to see Adam. "Nick knows there's something more to this," insists Morrow. "Adam doesn't do anything without ulterior motives. The guy's a freakin' snake."

Rather bluntly, Nick tells Adam to stay away from Sharon. Adam fires back at him, telling Nick to focus on his marriage to Phyllis. Upset, Nick hits Adam with an unexpected twist.

"Nick tells Adam he's sending him on a business trip. Nick genuinely needs Adam to do this, but there's also an underhanded reason for it: to get him away from Sharon. Obviously, Nick can't send Adam away forever, and Sharon is ultimately gong to do what she wants to do. But this will give Sharon a breather. Nick's hoping she'll reassess things and realize a friendship with Adam isn't something she wants to pursue."

Morrow continues, "There's no way in hell Nick is just going to sit back and let Adam operate the way he does. Nick is going to do whatever he needs to do in order to keep Adam away from Sharon."

A Closer Look at Chloe

An unexpected kiss from Billy prompts Chloe to make a choice between the two men in her life this week. Elizabeth Hendrickson explains.

WEEKLY: Chloe defends Billy after Mac, Daniel, Amber and Kevin chastise him for the article he wrote about Victoria's affair. Why does Chloe stand by him?

HENDRICKSON: Chloe sees everyone attacking Billy and trying to break him down. She sees that it's affecting him, and she doesn't like watching someone being badgered. Chloe's made mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. It's not the end of the world. So she's like, "Get over it. Back off."

WEEKLY: Afterward, Chloe tries to get cozy with Chance, but he backs off. What happens?

HENDRICKSON: It's pretty obvious that Chloe still has feelings for Billy and that he has a special place in her heart. Chance picks up on Chloe's need to have Billy in her life one way or another. He says, "Look, I know what you're doing. You've got one foot in the door and one foot out. I'm not going down that road. I'm not that kind of guy."

WEEKLY: How does that make Chloe feel?

HENDRICKSON: She doesn't realize she's hurting Chance. She thinks he just accepts her for who she is, and that's what she likes about him; that she can be herself. They started out as friends. He knows her entire deal. Sometimes Chloe doesn't consider his feelings. She talks to Chance openly about everything, when she should just keep certain things to herself.

WEEKLY: Later, Chloe's back at the Chancellor Estate when there's a knock at the door. Who is it?

HENDRICKSON: Billy. He's standing there with this look on his face like, "I need you. You're who I'm coming to." Chloe knows he's had a rough night. She has a moment of weakness and lets him in. Then she realizes what she's doing and says, "No. I can't do this. I'm not going to be your consolation prize. I'm always going to be your friend, but we're just friends. You need to go."

WEEKLY: Instead of going, Billy pulls Chloe into a kiss, which Chance witnesses. Right?

HENDRICKSON: Yes. Chance doesn't hear what Chloe has said. he just comes down the stairs and sees the kiss. The he walks away. Chance thinks Billy has shown up and Chloe is kissing him, which completely confirms everything he was feeling earlier.

WEEKLY: Does Chloe finally toss Billy out?

HENDRICKSON: Chloe is very matter-of-fact. She's not, "Get out of here. Get away from me." It's more like, "We can't go down this road anymore. I care about you, but we're just friends." Chloe is finally deciding to shut that door. She realizes it's time for her to move on. She realizes Billy is a lost cause. There will always be something there, but she has to start taking care of herself and taking care of her daughter. Chloe is growing up and learning to accept things, and the thing is she really does like Chance. It's different from the other relationships she's used to, but she always has fun with him.

WEEKLY: That's a big step. Are you happy about it?

HENDRICKSON: It's funny when you have storylines like this that can somewhat emulate your own life; when your own storylines teach you lessons. It's something I like to play, because it's something I can relate to. I like growing up with Chloe. It makes it a lot easier to play and a lot harder, because it's a lot more real.

WEEKLY: So you're familiar with the whole bad boy attraction?

HENDRICKSON: Yeah (laughs). The bad boy trying to grow up. You just hit 30 and think maybe it's time to start appreciating yourself and what you deserve. I'm learning from Chloe.
