Y.E.S. ticket question

I know that you can't add the no expiration option to a Y.E.S. ticket, but can you save one for a future trip if it is completely unused? I'm trying to figure out the best way to combine Y.E.S. tickets and an AP.

Thanks so much!

My understanding is that they are good for 7 days before and 7 days after the data of the class. So no, you would not be able to use the ticket at a later date.

Wait. Can you add dining to Y.E.S. tickets? No - right? Maybe an AP for me would be a good idea after all?

The YES tickets come with dates on the back. We were there for a weekand our tickets were good for a week before we got there until a week after we leftt. My understanding is that to get the DDP, you have to pay for a package which included tickets and your room. You have to get at least a 2 day ticket I believe. YES tickets are separate and will not count as part of a package.

Thanks Torinsmom - that's what I was thinking.

I was planning to get an AP for myself only for room discounts and such... I'll definitely meet the "break even" point since we'll be there for 10 days this year and will come back next year, too.

If I do that I can get the AP Dining Plan and everyone else can get the Y.E.S. tickets. I ran this option through my spreadsheet and it made sense, but then I started to second guess myself.

Thanks again, ladies!

I received my YES tickets last week. You do NOT have to purchase anything BUT the tickets. I have 7 day hopper with water park visits for $174. I had my tickets mailed to me. You have the OPTION of adding another program at $26 a person. One program is included in your park ticket price.

If you are doing the 'regular' YES and have a group of 10 children that can attend one of the programs (they vary in age/interest/grade), you'll get two free tickets.

If you are doing the Open Enrollment you don't need a specific number of children but you will not get the FREE tickets.

BTW, a 10 day hopper/w water park option ticket is UNDER $200. The previous posters are correct too, my tickets are dated.

by Free tickets do you mean tickets for the class or park tickets?

The two day ticket is only required for the free dining promotion. To purchase a dining plan you only need to have a one day ticket thus making your reservation a package versus room only. However the ticket must be purchased as part of the package, unless you are DVC members or have annual passes which handle the dining plan differently.

Three important things about YES tickets.

1. They have a specific valid date range. They cannot be used before the "start" date and all entitlements are canceled after the "end" date.

2. A partially used ticket cannot be upgraded or modified in any way. You cannot add days, options, or No Expire.

3. If the ticket is completely unused it can be traded in for a new MYW ticket or Annual Pass during its validity period. However, you will only be given credit for the amount that Disney originally sold the ticket for, so there is no price savings.

You will get 2 FREE chaperone park tickets when you book 10 children (in one or more of their programs). The first chaperone program ticket is FREE. If you choose another one its $26. Just to clarify the first YES program is FREE for both children and chaperones. Its if you want another one that cost $26.

Thank you for all the great information so far! I have one more question:

I have two children participating in the YES program through a group (not in open enrollment), so I will be buying them two Y.E.S. Tickets. My understanding is that I can purchase one Y.E.S. ticket for myself and one Y.E.S. ticket for my husband. Can I buy any additional tickets for non-participating children, or my Mom who is coming with us? What is the rule on the number of Y.E.S. tickets that can be purchased at the discounted price when participating through the group?

Thanks so much!

You can order 1 non- participate ticket for every 1 child participating. 1:1. It doesn't matter if they are children or adults. You just can't order any more non-participate tickets than children that will participate in the program. Does that make sense? I ordered 6 tickets for non-participates (2 were children in Kindergarten and 1st grade and the program we picked were for 2nd - 9th graders). We also ordered 4 additional tickets for adults (total 14) AND we ordered different tickets. 5 of us ordered 7 day hopper w/water parks (called Premium tickets) and the reminder of the party ordered 5 day hoppers. They were not interested in the water parks.

We bought Y.E.S. tickets for our group of 12 through open enrollment, even though only two kids and the accompanying adults were actually attending the class. Note: I haven't bought tickets through anything but open enrollment so this may not be the case for the regular Y.E.S. tickets. Our tickets worked fine for everyone. Also, don't be thrown by the fact that all tickets say "Youth" on them - it just means they're distributed by one of Disney's youth programs.
