OK - I got the little Xyron 150 to use with my punched out letters....tiny punched out letters. How to use it is quite obvious....but the mechanics are making me a little aggravated.

I actually have 2 different issues with it. The "hopper" is large enough to put more than one letter in at a time, which is actually causing the problem...it's too deep to get my fingers in there to arrange the letters & they keep flipping etc.

If I can resolve the other issue it would take care of the first. It seems like a waste of adhesive to put one of these little letters in there at a time (even if it ends up right side up!) Can you take the rolls of adhesive/film out & use it without the "frame"? Then I could put in 2 or 3 ltters at once.

How much space needs to be between cut-outs? I see you're supposed to rub around the edges of the item before removing the film. Is that just to make sure it adheres properly? You don't get adhesive beyond the edges of the cut-out, do you?

TIA

u can use tweezers to get them in there
or you could just run a strip of paper through - then punch the letters from it ;)

Well, I'd thought about running the paper through, but in the other thead someone said it can gunk up the Sizzix then. :confused3

I took the adhesive roll out of the "machine". that way I can put the letters on the adhesive and not have alot of wasted adhesive. Then you just have to lay the backing on top. I caut off the backing sheet and then lay it on top of the adhesive part. Hope this helps.

I have use tweezers to get 2 or more things side by side and lined up right in the hopper.

 OK, so I lied. I have another question. :rotfl:

Which side is supposed to be sticky? I mean, which tape? The clear or the opaque? Never mind why....

The white tape has the sticky stuff on it. :flower:

Well that's what I thought....until all my letters were stuck to the clear stuff! :( Am I rubbing too hard maybe? So far I'm not having much success. The letters gets stuck to the clear side & the CS I'm using won't peel off the clear stuff in one piece - it's splitting so I end up with 2 copies of the letter basically. :confused3

I use a shish-ka-bob skewer to guide my little pieces into the X. Seems to work pretty well. Occasionally I think they are placed right, but one still overlaps another. Depending on how much they overlap I decide if I should run it through again or not.

Just the other day I had a letter stick to the clear part and it took the color right off. I recut the letter and it did the same thing (weird only the "e" did it) The only difference is I was using cardstock from a Disney scrapbook kit. Usually I use cardstock that I buy by the piece at a scrapbook store. I thought maybe it had to do with the quality of the paper.

And, actually.....I don't even scrapbook. My 10 yr old dd does. I'm just her cutter, her driver to get her to crops, and her money source ;)
