Didn't hear it. Honestly, I wish people would clean up their language across the board. I don't want to hear that on tv. I don't want to hear that while I'm at work. I don't want to hear that while I'm doing my grocery shopping. Clean it up, people!

Not that I approve of the use of such language, but wow what an error in judgement on CNN's part. Surely they should've been able to predict this as a possibility should anything go wrong.

Oh give me a break, CNN was listening in on the command frequency for the building. There was no way this guy knew he was on the air. Get over it. I actually thought it was kinda funny.

Nope, that's the first I'd ever heard of it. But what I want to know is, why was anyone even listening? Who cares what the guys in charge of the stage are saying? What a silly thing for CNN to air.

Bed - They were probably listening so they could cue the cameras instead of just waiting and watching for the balloons and confetti to fall and then having to take the time to adjust the cameras. At least that's why I would have been listening in their position. Why they were airing it instead of just listening is the real question ;) As for what was said - didn't hear, have no real problems with it, accidents happen.

editted to correct typo

I didn't hear it but later I heard Wolf Blitzer apologizing for it.

I really don't get what people get so worked up about!! Its slang.
Some people get so riled up about nothing......I don't get it.

I don't watch CNN, but I heard about it on Good Morning America (I don't watch that either but it was this morning when I rolled out of bed).

I understand that it was the producer of the televised convention who made the remarks. He was being interviewed as the convention ended. He just forgot he was live on mic and started yelling at the "balloon people" to let the balloons go.

I hear it all the time, from all ages ... young and old, both genders, all socio-economic backgrounds, all level of celebrity, all anybody, anything. I'm not saying that that makes it okay, it just doesn't bother me enough to be making news stories about it.

I'm glad Charlie Gibson found the story somewhat humorous, or seemed to anyway. I would have thought he lost his mind if he was angry about it.

Slang is "ain't" and "ya'll".

That was verbal filth.

I still don't think its worth gettin' all worked up over. I wasn't brought up with that kind of language, don't need to use it. I think for some its just part of their vocabulary. No biggie....

This word, along with a few others has become a common part of speech for many people. Language is an organic thing. Those who use these terms should exercise extreme discretion.:D

I was watching, and did hear this along with my DS. You could tell he was really beside himself because the balloons and confetti were not working the way he wanted it to. We thought it was really funny. Unfortunate that this one sentence was aired on CNN, but nothing in life is perfect. I am sure if he had known he was being aired on TV, he would have used more appropriate language. My Mom's old saying, " You never know who might be listening", comes to mind.

LMAO- I wonder what the guy was thinking when he realized what happened. I thought it was funny, because they didn't air it on purpose, it was an accident, if it was done on purpose they would have been fined. ::yes::

Some times, "gee fellas, what the heck is going on" just doesn't get across your true feelings.
Seriously though, both sides need to watch their mouths a bit.

Was showing this to DFiance, telling him how I was clipping my nails when this happened and I just laid there in shock...
I then got a funny vision, what if this guy worked for those snoddy kiddy b-day party companies, can you imagine... "Balloons, where ARE you balloons?!?!":earseek:
