Hello everyone
We are planning to drive to Orlando a few days before xmas (from Oakville)
what route should we take? Also how long will it take us?
Thanks:

Hey...I'm in Oakville too.

The shortest route is the 77/79/95 route. However, in the winter it is generally better to go the 75 route. On the I-75 you don't go through mountains until you are in the south so you don't have any bad weather concerns.

It will take you approx 24 hours on the road. That can change depending on how often you stop. We have done the drive in 22 hours but we pack our food in a cooler and only stop for gas/restroom/stretch. We like to leave home at about 2:30am and then drive until about 9pm. Without any delays that will get us to Savannah, GA then we are left with a little over a 3 hour drive. I hate car trips so I could never tolerate two 12 hour days.

dancin Disney style,
where in Savannah do you stay. this is where we are planning on driving to.

I 75 is ideal. Cross the bridge at Windsor, hit #75 and stay on it till the Turnpike in Florida

As I said in your other thread......

Well I can tell you which way we always go from Oakville. Yes we are in the same town. We too are heading down to disney this christmas. I would goto google maps and get directions From Oakville ontario to disney world. It will give you 3 options. I would print out all 3. You never know about the weather and you will want a backup route just in case.

We always go.

qew, peace bridge, I-190, I-90, I-79, US-19 do not speed, I-77, I-26, I-95, I-4.

But might try qew to I-190,I-90,1-77,I-26,I-95,I-4. as google maps says its shorter

Either of these routes will take you approx 20 1/2 hrs of driving. I-75 21 1/2 hrs. Thats according to google maps

We just stop when we are tired or at 9pm which ever comes first. The exits around Savannah have a ton of hotels. We just go in a few at ask the rates then pick one. Last year we stayed at the Best Western, the rate was good and we get points there. I think we paid around $65 and it included breakfast.

The exit we stopped at had a Red Roof, Quality, Comfort, BW, Microtel, Super 8, HI and a Courtyard. Those are just the ones that I remember, there were a few more.
