:cheer2: I am very excited! we have been lucky enough to do a DLP visit for the the last 3 years in summer time including this year and have had a great time.
My lovely Husband has just said we can book up for the weekend before xmas as a special bday treat.! (I will be 30 , my son 5 and my daughter 2 all within 5 days of xmas day -we are all xmas babies!)
My only concern is that it will be so cold and that might take away from some of the enjoyment. Had a look at the xmas site and it looks great -so come on those of you who have been at xmas time-is it really as magical as I am hoping-fake snow, santa etc etc or should we save our money and be sensible?
:) thanks!

Oh wow...your concern is the cold...that's what make's it for me!.

Our first visit as back in 2004 (I think - check my signature!) during the Christmas season, and I was hooked.

With the park, village and hotels all decorated for the season, and with the coldness I just find it (to steal a line from a song), the most magical time of the year.

We've visited every year since either in November or December. I tried an April visit one year near the Easter weekend - I just didn't find it the same, the lack of decorations, and most important for me, the temperature - it was warm!. It just didn't work for me!.

Another important benefit is that - compared to Summer, and depending on when you visit during the Christmas Season the park tends to be on the quiet side - so no majorily long queues. You've got all the decorations, tree, periods of snow on main street.

Enjoy!.

I went last year from 20 - 23 December and it was just....and so......and really.......with complete......that made us feel utterly...........

Hope that convinces you! :thumbsup2

Seriously, we have booked for the same dates this year. It IS cold, but with planning (coats, thermals, gloves and scarves) you don't really feel it. The atmosphere is FANTASTIC and, yes, it snows and it's brilliant. The parade DOES have real reindeer and (the real) Father Christmas and there is a Christmas Market near the Village and decorations in Belle's Christmas Village in Fantasyland. EVERYWHERE you go is decorated - every hotel with it's own theme. It is a complete makeover.

Christmas season at DLRP is soooooooo beautiful it makes me cry :cloud9:   .

Yes, its cold, especially after dusk, but you just wrap up warm. Thick socks, boots, a couple of layers, a good coat, hats and gloves. Seeing everyone else all bundled up just adds to the experience.

You will love it, book it book it book it :yay: !

Oh no don't be sensible, christmas at disney is wonderful much better than summer. The decorations are outstanding, there's a christmas market in the village, the snow down mainstreet is just magical, you can go ice skating outside the HNY and not forgetting wow factor when you first walk through the gates and see all the decorations, and as far as the cold is concerned we all wear thermals. yay i'm all excited about our January trip now. Where were you thinking of staying? :)

ooh Im getting excited now!
Were thinking of either staying offsite at Dream castle or onsite at Sequoia-Really like HNY but think Sequoia will be nice at xmas time!:santa:

SL is where we stayed last year and you're right - it is GORGEOUS at Christmas. Coming back in the evening and having a drink in the Redwood Bar with the big log fire blazing away is a lovely end to the day. We would have stayed there this Christmas if the cost wasn't nearly double what we paid last time. :scared1: :scared1:

I think the cold is what makes it so special! Christmas is meant to be cold! :cold: We're going to WDW for Christmas next year and it just won't seem right with it not being cold and being able to drink hot chocolate all wrapped up in thermals. :rotfl:

Go on ...... book it ....... you won't regret it! :goodvibes

The SL is lovely at christmas, warming yourself by the huge log fire in the bar after a long day in the parks is one of my favourite things. It snowed one year we were there, looking out of our hotel window the trees and the lake looked beautiful.

we went in April this year and woke up to snow on our first morning there...it made everything so much more special. It was absolutely magical to see the gardens covered in snow and the castle shimmering with snow as well.

This was the view we were greeted with on our first morning looking out of our window :

I would really recommend going if there is even a small possibility of snow! We are already planning another trip in Dec 09 as well as a trip in May 09

We go in November every year and its great. Just pack your long johns!

Go for it! :cheer2:

We are spending Christmas there this year and cant wait :yay:

Let us know what you decide!

Xmas is absolutely pixiedust: . That's why we're going back in Dec!

We went in Dec 2006 with DD1 (4 at the time) and DD2 (3 months). It was cold but wonderful!

this will be my 2nd time in DEC it makes me believe in father christmas again it so magical.......

We have been twice during Christmas season and would happily go again if we found the right deal.
DLP takes on an even more magical apperance during this time. It will rekindle your belief in Santa.... go for it :goodvibes
